THALIA POV
I woke as we landed, the plane coming to a complete stop on the runway. I approached Artemis's compartment, opening it to find, once again, Artemis entangled with Percy, completely passed out.
I yelled for them to wake up, which they did, immediately spouting excuses for why they were in their position, which I knew was complete bullshit.
I just smirked, muttered an "Mhm", and left to get my things.
Perseus Achillies Jackson, you fucking dog. I mused internally.
As we made our way through the streets of New York, there was a clear tension between my Patron and Guardian. I chuckled, each of the hunters curious as to why the pair were that way.
Athena had flashed back to Olympus to study the documents we 'borrowed'.
As we approached Half-Blood Hill, Percy pulled his hood over his head, all but his nose and mouth covered in shadow. The cloth was enchanted so that it could never come off unless pulled off, and would always have the shadow, no matter the position of the Sun.
He requested that we refer to him as Ronin. I could understand why, as did many of the hunters. Atlanta blew the horn, signaling that we had arrived. The reactions were the same as normal; guys speechless at the large group of beautiful women, the females jealous or in wonder at the sight. Though they all changed to the same when Ronin came into view; shock and curiosity as to why a male was with the world's biggest man-haters.
A blonde guy came over to greet us, and I saw Ronin have a look of distaste. I immediately knew who it was.
PERCY POV
Derek Brightman, the bastard who stole Annabeth. He greeted the hunters with his girlfriend at his side. His eyes landed on me, and my hand immediately clenched into a fist.
"Is this a prisoner of war? A male who spied on you, perhaps?" He said, his voice as perfect as ever.
"I'm Ronin, Guardian of the Hunt. And let me make one thing clear; if you try to make ANY move on my sisters, I will personally see that you never live to see the light of day again." I said, venom filling my words. The hunters looked proud that I had referred to them as my sisters.
"HA, really? Guardian? You don't look like you could protect shit!" He said, causing a group of guys to laugh.
That was the last straw. I punched with all my anger, hitting right into his perfect face. Oh, but I wasn't done. I punched him again in the rib, then the hip, then grabbed his face before tripping him, slamming him into the ground.
Everyone backed up as we started moving toward Chiron and the Big House.
I looked back to see Annabitch holding him, asking if he was ok. I chuckled, though it only stopped when we reached the 3-story building.
"Lady Artemis. I assume this is the Guardian I've heard so much about.
Deciding to mess with him, I put my hand over my heart, taking a wounded expression. "I'm hurt, Mentor. You really didn't recognize me?" I said, pulling back my hood. Chiron, well, he looked about ready to faint. "Perseus?" He asked.
We shook hands, with him congratulating me on my role. We talked for another hour or so before the hunters left to put their stuff down in Cabin 8. I pulled my hood back up as I followed them. Artemis told me to that she would like to conversate with me for a moment in private, drawing knowing looks from some of the hunters. Thalia whispered in my ear, telling me to use protection. I blushed a deep red, which caused some of the hunters to burst out laughing.
After making sure the door was locked, Artemis turned to me. She walked up to me sexily, and wrapped her arms around my neck, initiating a make out session. I just sat on the bed as she sat in my lap once more. She really loved doing that.
I moved to her neck, licking and kissing all over. I felt her moan against my lips when I kissed her throat. "Peerrrccyyyyy~~" she moaned. I kissed harder, letting her know I was listening. "It may not work out, but I at least want to try being in a relationship. Would you do the honors of being my boyfri~ AHH!" she requested, moaning as I practically made out with her neck.
I pulled back, nodding. She looked ecstatic, roughly kissing me until we both ran out of breath.
"You're too good." She said, pulling our foreheads together. "Should we tell the hunters about us?" I inquired. She only responded by passionately kissing me, something that I had a feeling would become quite common.
We exited the room, hold hands as we did, and made the announcement. Some hunters looked victorious, while others looked defeated, handing the smiling ones some drachmae.
That night, we all had dinner in the familiarly loud dining pavilion. The hunters ate like beasts, while I kept up the intimidation factor by eating slowly. I could hear the murmurs about me.
Suddenly, they were all quieted by Derek, who looked slightly bruised. "Ronin, Guardian of the Hunt, I challenge you to a duel to the death." He yelled. I smirked as all eyes turned to me. I stood up, saying, "I accept."
Artemis had a mischievous look in her eyes. She, too, stood up, and kissed me, making everyone's, except the hunters, jaw drop in surprise.
It was brief, yet passionate, and I knew why I had received it. To encourage me. To strengthen me. And it sure as hell worked.
If I knew anything, this woman had a unique way of getting to me.
And cliffhanger.
