Coming-out to the new friend

Pov: Shinobu

A couple of days  later 

I was in the kitchen where my parents and Joel  My mother asked me, when I would write a test or a exam and I told her , that I didn't know the excat date so she asked Joel.

Joel: On the 19th August they will write an exam.

Me: How do you know that?

Joel: From a certain person.

Mom: And who was that person?

Joel: A good friend of your daughter, Ma'am.

Dad: Do we know him?

Me: I met him in Hokkaido. The guy I talked to you about, mom.

Mom: Ah, that sweet guy. He seemed to be a very good guy. Why don't you introduce him to us?

Dad: You will meet him at the event,honey.

They then started to talk about him while I was eating my food and after I was done eating, Joel gave me my bento and when I was in the car , my dad gave me time schedule of the day.

At school 

I walked to my locker, took my shoes off and then saw a girl from my class. I think I never spoke to her but she came to me and asked me, if we could go to class together. I was confused but then nodded my head and she started to talk about a teacher that she likes - and it looks like everyone in this school like that teacher...I don't know why.

Me: In which way do you like him?

Mei: I would say...if he would talk to me or noticed me as a women and not as his student, I would let him...

Me:...do anything with you?

She nodded her head and started to bragging about something else and when we arrived at our classroom, I sat down and she came to my desk and asked me if we could be friends.

Me: Sure.

I took my phone out and we exchanged our phone number. I have a bad feeling about our friendship but who cares...not me, so it's not my problem.


In the first break

I walked downstairs to the Cafeteria and then heard that somebody yelled my name through the hallway, so I looked back and saw Mei running in my direction.

Me: Didn't you said that you had to do something else, Mei?

Mei: I did but then felt sorry for leaving you alone.

I actually would just watch a series on Netflix that I began to watch but I think that it would be nice to talk to someone while eating our bentos.

She asked quite a few question about myself and I did the same thing but didn't told her everything about me because I didn't felt like that.

Mei: Do you have a crush on somebody, Shinobu-chan?

Me: I wouldn't say that I have a crush on a certain person but I admire them.

That's the truth.

Mei: Could you tell me more about the person?

I then said, that I'm playing Tennis and Kyudo with that person and I knew them for 7 years now.

Mei: Are you two good friends?

Me: I think that we are best friends now but back then, we were really just good friends.

Come to think about that now, I didn't talked to her for months but that's just because of the moving and this event...I think that I would see her on the event.

Mei: I think that you maybe have a crush on that specific person , Shinobu-chan.

Me: I don't because I have someone important in my life.

I think that I said to much because she looked at my with disbelieved eyes and an open mouth before asking me , if I had a boyfriend.

Me: That someone is my fiancee.

Mei: What?!

Me: Not so lout please. I don't think that we are the only one up here on the roof, Mei.

Mei: Sorry.

I do have a fiancee because of my grandmother - not my parents. My Mother was against that and my Grandfather the same but my Grandmother told us, that we just get married when we both are around the age of 20...but for me is it still young because I want to go to the university and not think about a marriage just because our grandparents thought so.

Mei: Is your fiancee older that you?

Me: No, they're not older than me. We are in the same age.

She talks a lot but I kind of enjoy her surrounding. She wanted to say something but then the bell rang, so we took our bentos and walked back to class.

Osamu: Can I ask you something, Kocho?

I looked at him while I took my school stuff for the next lesson out.

Me: What is it?

Osamu: Do you have the homework for english? I forgot them and we have to give them the teacher so please help me out.

I was a bit donfused but then remerberd the assigment, that we had to do. I then handed him my homework and when the teacher came in, we all greeted her and asked us if he had the homework. I felt a tap on my shoulder - it was Osamu , who wanted to give my homework back.

The teacher then walked through the class hallway and we had to give her our assigment.

Teacher: Those who forgot the assignment have to give it to me tomorrow or they will fail this class. Did you understand me?

Students: Yes.

After the teacher was back at her desk, I got a note from Mei and when I opened it and read it - it was from a Anonymous person but I recognize their handwriting...it was from Suna who asked if he could copy my homework too. I ripped the note in little pieces, stood up and walked to the trash bin.

Teacher: Why did you stood up, Kocho?

Me: I just wanted to throw something away.

Teacher: Then before doing that, why don't you ask your teacher first if you can do that.

I didn't knew how to answer so I just nodded and sat down. Actually you can just stand up to do that but I forgot that the school rules are different to the school rules that I had in my school.

2nd break was the same as the first break but when me and Mei walked downstairs to our classroom, a team member from the volleyball club approached us and asked me, if I had a sec to talk to him.

Me: Ah, could you wait here. I will just go with her to our classroom and then we can talk. Is that OK for you?

He nodded his head, so me and Mei walked to class,  put our school stuff in our bag because we had to change the classroom for the next lesson.

Me: Do you wanna wait with me or do you wanna go to class now?

Mei: I have to go to the toilet but I can take your bag if it's ok for you?

I gave her my bag and she ran to another classroom and I walked to the boy,  who stood at the same spot as I told him to wait there.

Me: Now, what did you wanted to ask me?

Rensuke: Do you have a copy of that formula, that you handed over to everyone yesterday?

I didn't had my bag with me but I think I have it on my phone, so I pulled it out and asked  him if he could do a picture of it. He then thanked me and I went to the classroom , where Mei waited for me.

Me: He just wanted to have a formula.
Mei: I got a call from my mom so I ran to the bathroom but after the phone call, when I wanted to go back to the classroom, I heard something very interesting. Do you wanna hear it?

I nodded my head and we both moved closer to each other and then she whispered in my ear about , that when the boy and girls from class 1-5 had separate P.E lessons, a boy put a camera in the girls locker room and made picture of them while they were changing.

Me: That sounds creepy as fuck.

Mei: It really does but we don't know if it was true or not.

She then took a piece of paper out and we both tried to find the stalker but then got interrupted by the sound of the teacher calling us,  so I hide the paper behind my back and then stood up like the other student and greeted the teacher.

After several days I began to be good friends with Mei Isagi even if I still think that somebody is behind this -  and don't ask me why I think that.

I was at home and did my homework when I got a message from Mei, who asked if we could do a video call and I agreed so minutes later we both talked to each other and it felt like the time passed by really quick because I heard a knock on my door and that meant that I had to go to sleep now.

Me: I will go to sleep now.

Mei: But it's just 10:29pm.

I smiled a bit when she said thatbut my parents want that I go to sleep between 9pm and 10pm. I then did like, I hang up , walked to my door and said to Joel that " I will go to sleep now ".

He understood what I actually wanted to say and told me good night and walked away before whispering, that I should be very quiet even if we have soundproof rooms.

After I closed the door, turned the big light off , closed the curtains and turned my desk light on I went on the school schedule and put my school stuff in my bag before I went to bed.

When I was done with doing that, I took my phone and my charger,  sat on my bed and called Mei again.

Mei: Didn't you said that you have to go to sleep around this time?

Me: Yes, but I can't sleep now and didn't you wanted to tell me something really important, Mei?

She then told me, that the girls from class 1-5 found the stalker and told the principal and the teacher that but the only punishment that the guy became , was that got banned from school for a whole week and that he has to write an apology letter to the victims.

Mei: His punishment should be more than that.

Me: Do you know why he did that?

Mei : He got paid for doing that but he didn't said who the people were.

Me: That's fucking nasty.

She then from nowhere told about a video that she saw on the internet and I started to get sleepy but didn't let her notice that.

Mei: And then...I was so worried about...he just...

She then stopped talking, so I asked her if something was wrong.

Mei: Everything is fine.

Me: You can't lie. I know that something is wrong with you. Your voice is cracking.

She made a long sigh before she spoke up.

Mei: Did you ever questioned your own sexuality?

Wow...she jumped from one topic to the other one really fast.

Me: Why do you ask? Are you in love with someone of the same gender?

Mei: Yes.

She could be gay but I won't say that to her right now.

Me: Are you just in love with a girl ?


Pov: Mei

I nodded my head without noticing that she can't see that.

Me: Not in love...it's more like than love.

Shinobu: You mean?

Me: Uhm-..I would say that I would support that person in any way even if I like them.

I'm wondering...would she notice that I'm talking about her and not about somebody else?

Shinobu: So if the person you like falls in love with somebody else , you would help them to get together?

That's an odd question but she's right...I would do that even if I myself wouldn't like that.

Me: Yes...I would do that even if I wouldn't like that. Why do you ask something like that?

Shinobu: You remember when I told you that I had a fiancee.

Me: Yes.

Shinobu: But at the same time I like another person.

Me: Does your fiancee know that?

Shinobu: No,but I think that they thought of that.

Me: Was that person a boy or a girl?

Shinobu: She's a girl...it might be a surprise for you but I want to tell you something.

Me: Sure.

Shinobu: I'm gay.

Me: What?

I didn't thought that she would tell me that even if I thought that myself without her noticing that.

Shinobu: I just have to say that to you.
Me: That's totally fine to me. I'm happy that you told me that but am I the only person that knows about your coming out?

Shinobu: No, your not the only person. My parents know it but think that I'm bisexual and I told it my friends but I didn't told it a new friend or mine.

Me: So is your fiancee a girl?

Shinobu: Yes.


Pov: Shinobu

I didn't knew if it was a good idea but it was unessesary for me to hide it because I think that Mei knew it...but who is the person that she likes?

Mei: So Is your fiancee a girl?

Me: Yes, she's a girl.

Mei:  And who is the person that you like?

Me: She's my best friend.

Mei: Oh.

Me: Yesss...

Mei: And how will you confess your love to her?

Me: I think after the tournament.

Mei: Which tournament? You mean in Volleyball?

Me: No, not in Volleyball-...

Mei: Tennis?

Me: Yes, tennis.

We then spoke about tennis from nowhere and around 1am we both said good night to each other. I laid my phone on my night stand and charged it.
