CLARA'S POV
Rain ran down the window, and I watched in awe as the drops trickled down. My enjoyment of the sight soon turned into an unexplained anger, until I realized what was wrong. I loved the rain, yet now all I could do was associate it with Director Rain.
"We're here," Harry announced from next to me, peeling my gaze off the window as I felt the car jolt slightly. We were parked outside my school, the front barely lit up as I was past curfew and no one should have been outside anyways. I stepped out of the car, sighing at Harry's words which I had heard before. That was all he had said to me since we completed our mission. I had no idea what had gone on between then and when we had been together.
I stalked to the front door, being buzzed in by the person watching the monitors, and making my way to Rain's office. I didn't know if Harry was following me, and I didn't care. I just wanted to get debriefed and go to bed and forget this day had ever happened. As I was about to knock on the door, it opened, revealing Rain standing there, a surprised look on her face.
"Clara? You're not supposed to be back this soon," she said, closing the door behind her.
"The mission didn't go as planned," I blankly stated. Rain looked behind me and I guessed Harry had just arrived.
"Alright, debriefing room now," the Director ordered, and I followed her and Harry to the familiar room, ready to deliver a fake report.
"So he drank himself to death?" Rain asked after Harry and I had told her the events of the mission.
"Before we could question him, yes," Harry said and Rain slowly nodded.
"Very well. Get some rest, you two have a mission tomorrow since this one didn't require much energy or time," Rain informed us and I mentally groaned at the thought of having to work with Harry so soon again.
"What kind of mission?" Harry questioned just as I was about to get up and leave. I slowly sank back down in my seat, resting my head in my hand.
"Somewhat long term. Unless you guys manage to pull it off sooner. We suspect this school, Ellbit's Boarding School, has someone in place scouting for potential Ivy recruits. We want you to find out who it is, and eliminate them," Rain explained and although it seemed like a text book mission, something seemed off.
"How are we going to do that? It's not like we can break in and find the scout. We need to talk to people, feel around the teachers," I argued and Harry slightly nodded his head in agreement.
"That's why you won't be breaking in. You two are transfer students, staying at the boarding home along with the other students. You will be required to attend classes, events, and of course, blend in with the other kids," she clarified and I closed my eyes and exhaled, sinking further into my seat and leaning away from Harry. I didn't notice I had done it, but apparently Rain did.
"Whatever problems you two may have right now need to be resolved. This is an important mission and I will not have personal feelings get in the way of us finding the scout," the Director added and I straightened up.
"There's no problem, we're just tired," Harry stated and Rain hesitated before nodding.
"Good. Report here tomorrow at 9 A.M."
I got up and nodded at Rain, exiting the debriefing room as quickly as possible and going straight for the stairs. I felt Harry behind me and thought he might try to talk to me, or pull me aside like he'll often do, but it wasn't until half-way up the main stair case I realized he wouldn't.
