"Ouch!"
"Shut up."
"It hurts!"
"You're acting like a baby," Yumiko hissed as she dabbed antiseptic onto Josuke's stitches, "your mom said I had to do this while she's gone because you wouldn't do it yourself."
"She's a crazy lady!" Josuke shouted, his skin red as he tried to ignore the stinging sensation in his arm as he used the other to hold an ice pack to the skin of his chest over his ribcage.
"She's your mom," Yumiko replied, setting down the now orange tinted cotton ball and grabbing the wrap bandage beside them, beginning to wrap the fabric around Josuke's arm, "she knows you wouldn't do this to yourself."
"Yeah because it hurts like a bitch!" Josuke growled.
"And it's all done, you're just being dramatic," Yumiko sighed, grabbing the used cotton balls and tossing them in the trash before closing up the antiseptic and putting it in the medicine cabinet, "alright put your shirt on you big baby."
Josuke glared at her as he grabbed his yellow tank top from the floor and slipped it back on.
"It's backwards," Yumiko mumbled, tucking Josuke's arms back in the top and twisting it around the right way, then she pulled his arms back out of the shirt and smoothed the fabric down, "there, now you look…presentable."
"But my hair is all fucked up," Josuke said, annoyance in his voice as he looked at himself in the mirror.
Yumiko looked at the hairdo, scanning over the out of place hairs.
"It's like six o'clock Josuke, who cares?" She shrugged."I do! I wanna look good if we get robbed or have to leave the house in the middle of the night!" Josuke exclaimed.
Yumiko rolled her eyes, "Josuke, your hair looks stupid all the time, especially when you just wake up. You've probably got weeks of product build up in your hair, you need to wash it."
Josuke's eye twitched at her words, his face turning red.
"Keep going and steam might come out of your ears too," Yumiko chuckled, "I washed my hair already, now it's your turn, lean over the tub."
"I'm not doing your girly hair washing!"
"It's basic hygiene Josuke, besides, your hair will look even better in a pompadour if it's clean."
Josuke thought for a moment before he leaned over the tub, "just this once."
"Just this once, because after you're going to start doing this yourself."
Morning seemed to go by slowly for Josuke, rolling out of bed, brushing his teeth, getting dressed for school, it all passed by like a snail crossing the sidewalk.
"Look at you, you look super clean!" Yumiko said, beaming with a smile as she and Josuke stepped out of the house, ready to go to school.
"I feel pretty good, lighter even," Josuke chuckled.
They chatted idly on the way to school, picking up Okuyasu as well.
They entered the school and opened their lockers, changing into clean shoes and putting away their bags, grabbing their books instead.
"Hey! Look at this!" Yumiko exclaimed, picking up a small envelope from her locker during lunch.
It was made of colourful paper and the hand writing seemed almost typed up.
"Ooh you think it's a love letter?" Yukako asked.
"It could be, but I kinda doubt it, maybe they meant to put it in your locker," Yumiko said, handing the envelope to Yukako.
