Chapter Four

The group decided to stop and rest under a cabinet after what felt like seven days of running.

Magic slid to the floor, of course she had been in the maze plenty of times, but back there you could walk at whatever pace you liked, and would only need to run if it started getting late.

"Oh come onnnn! We can run more!" Tubbo protested.

For such a small rat, Tubbo had the energy of all the other rats combined.

"No we cannot" the two Krow's said at the exact same time, and Magic and Bek giggled at how much they seemed like twins.

"I agree with those two, it's not safe if we waste our energy like this" Scott pointed out

"And plus this house is really big! It'll take days to find them!" Olive added. Suddenly a large hand came and scooped Magic, Krow, and Olive from under the cabinet.

Magic screamed, Krow attacked the hand with its claws, and Olive tried to wiggle their way out.

Magic squeezed her eyes shut too terrified to really do much.

After a few minutes the hand let go and Magic opened her eyes to see herself, Krow, and Olive all falling before landing with a thud in a large metal cage.

"What the fuck just happened?" Krow questioned.

"The cook caught us" Olive answered.

Magic was still lying on the ground, her arm hurt like hell, and she had the vague feeling of something leaving her body.

"Magic!" Krow suddenly shouted, "oh no!" Olive squeaked.

"This is all your fault!"

"My fault!? How is it my fault?! I'm not the cook!"

"But you live here!"

"That doesn't make it my fault we got caught!"

Magic was confused on what they were talking about until she shakily sat up and looked at her arm.

Magic screamed and Krow rushed over to her.

Magic's arm was bent in a horrifying position, and blood was oozing out of it.

"Normally I'd cut it off, but that would just make it worse, plus I'd rather do that to this rats tail" Krow muttered.

"I heard that!" Olive commented.

"I know you did!" Krow shot back.

"Are you guys ok?" The accent of Shelby asked, followed closely behind by the others. Acho gasped when he saw the state of Magic's arm.

Tears were falling down Magic's cheeks as the pain somehow got even worse and she whimpered as the sound of a lever entered her ears, and both Krow and Bek helped her out of the cage.

"What happened?" Scott asked looking at Olive.

"Magic's arm must've landed on a bad position which broke it entirely." Olive informed, "do you think Eloise could help her?" Shelby questioned.

"Who's Eloise?" Bek asked, "a friend of ours" Rat Krow said looking at Magic with an expression she guessed was concern. It was hard to tell with the red and black hair covering his eyes.

Working together the group made it back to the attic and over to El's house.

"What happened?" She asked as Kyle and Scott gently laid her down on a bed. "The cook happened" Rat Krow said without much preamble.

"I'm going to get Owen" Scott decided scampering out of the tiny house.

Magic let out a whine of pain and Bek patted her head in a comforting manner. "She won't die right?" Acho asked, "she isn't supposed to" Eloise responded.

"While blood loss is an issue it seems as though you've already taken care of that."

Shelby nodded excitedly, "I'm so glad I always carry toilet paper on me! You never know when you might need it!"

Kyle and Acho gave Shelby an odd look and the rat only shrugged in response.

Magic wondered if Scott would be back soon.

The little blue haired rat was nice, and reminded Magic of the old Owen a bit with how protective he could get of those he cares about.

Scott returned a while later with Jimmy and The Owen Rat.

"Ok so tell me again what happened?" Owen asked.

"We were trying to find the rest of Magic's friends, but then the cook found us and grabbed me, Non-Rat-Krow, and Magic. Her arm must've landed funny for it to break like that" Olive explained.

Jimmy and Owen nodded and Magic let out another whine as more pain seeped into her.

"That bandage is bleeding through" Jimmy commented, "you should change it" he paused before saying, "without using toilet paper"

Shelby frowned as she put away the large role.

"I was only trying to help"

"Me and Eloise can get the bandages" Scott decided, "I think Will might have some at his house" Olive cut in.

"Perfect we'll go there"

Magic watched as Scott and Eloise left and another wave of pain came on.

She felt dizzy from the loss of blood, and wanted more then anything to just fall asleep, but there was one thing stopping her, and that was Krow.

The overprotective, easily angered, one armed demon was doing something odd with her hair.

None of the others seemed to notice as they were talking about other things, but Magic did. She didn't know what it was doing, but for some unknown reason it kept her awake.

When it eventually stopped due to Shelby looking over at the two of them, Magic was pulled into the void of unconsciousness.
