A Missed Bbq

Anastasia
We will not be going to the bbq at the Greys after dad told me what had happened and now dad is having his new employee go and look at the dock and boat house. He told me that Carrick basically thinks we are below him and his family and my dating or marrying either of his sons is not a good idea and he has preconceived notions about my having had a baby at 13, he implied it was a big issue for his family reputation if I got married to a son of his. For a bright man he sure is stupidly making assumptions that I am even after his son or sons. Daisy won't like it, but no more lunches or anything with any Grey. I might need to change her doctor as well. I might look at the job offer I got recently from a competitive publisher. I talk to Daisy about this and explain it to her very carefully and I know she likes Christian and has hopes of becoming his daughter so she get a sibling. I explain that she has good taste but the man is not marriage material and she's wasting her matchmaking skills.

Ray
I told Anastasia about the meeting with Carrick and she was very angry and told me no more Grey socializing. I agreed with her and I will tell Joseph. Collin can go and check out the dock and boathouse. I will get the desks done and have two employees deliver them to their home. Daisy is upset that she is limited on her chats with Christian and no more socializing with him outside of GEH. Anastasia told her no more inviting or accepting invitations to anything with Christian Grey or any Grey. Luckily her ear infection was caught early. We are looking for another pediatrician who is a surgeon as well. We found one dr Miller and he just started taking patients and he has an appointment open. We take Daisy for her first exam and she likes him. Anastasia signs for her medical records to be transferred to him. He asks why the transfer from dr Grey we tell him that it has nothing to do with her skills, it's a personal matter that concerns her family and we leave it at that. Joseph tells me that we got an invite to the bbq and he told them we wouldn't be coming to it or any other event or anything else they invite us to. Daisy is upset but understands that her hopes are based on a unreliable source and it's not right or fair. We haven't told her the truth about her conception and we don't want to, but soon she will have to be told. Anastasia, Joseph and I will need to sit her down all together and tell her the story and assure her we have always loved her and wanted her, just not the man who sired her. We hope it doesn't change her in any way. We love her as she is, although she may upset people sometimes.

I don't like that Carrick Grey thinks he and his family are too good for us, he has missed the boat on that one. We could bring a lot to their genetic  fabric. Anastasia and Christian could have more genius children like our Daisy. Who wouldn't want more children like her in the world. She was a miracle in itself and she survived to being born and even that was a miracle that she and Anastasia survived at all. We prayed a long time and they came back to us. Carla was a horrible mother and dragged us to Texas with Stephen Morton. Dad got his divorce and us if he signed the divorce papers. She didn't believe everyone about Stephen and married the asshole. She found out she was very wrong and was beaten because she gave us up especially Anastasia. The DNA test proved he was Daisy's father and he was sent to prison for life. He escaped and burned down our home hoping we would all die in it. He ran from the scene when cops recognized him and fell in a ditch and broke his neck and his nose. They think both injuries killed him. No one claimed the body.

Carrick
James Goodwin came to look at the dock and boat house and he checked it over thoroughly and told us that there is water damage and they need to replace several things and use some special waterproofing lacquer to assure everything is watertight afterward. It should be done every five years or as needed. The desks will be delivered in two weeks and he showed me the photos of them in progress. I ask where Ray is? He tells me that he has a rebuild on a home that burned down. That's all he tells me and hands me the photos and the quote on the boathouse and dock. He tells me to give him a call if I want to set up a time. He tells me that I should let him know soon because they are going into a busy period and time is of the essence.

James Goodwin
Ray told me he wanted me to deal with the Greys from now on and I did, he never explained what or why, but he is my boss and I follow instructions. I am working with Elliott Grey on custom builds now. Again he wonders where Ray and Joseph are at. I just tell him they are busy and they are definitely busy on a huge project and the Greys desks. I am just thrilled to have the job and they pay very well. I can deal with the Greys and whoever else Ray doesn't want to deal with. This place is a lot smaller that Rays place. Plus the security is better there. It is a smart home thanks to Rays contacts and his whole family and their abilities even Daisy.
