It started as a normal day. We finished the small remains of the kill and we were about to go to the den to sleep the day away. When the scouts returned they were covered in scratches and missing a wolf and they had bad news, they had smelled the same rotting fish scent crossing into our territory. They had investigated and had been ambushed by wolves from Loki's pack; one of the intruders had taken one of the younger scouts prisoner. Loki was the definition of the big bad wolf he had been banished from his pack at a young age for murdering the alpha to become in charge but he was caught with his alphas broken neck in his jaws so he was sent away and he had sought revenge ever since but not just on his old pack, he had attacked and destroyed almost all the packs in the valley he had taken those who would serve him and killed the rest and it looked like they were coming for us next. The injured scouts were taken to the medic den to tend to their wounds and rest.

We prepared the den and doubled our patrols. The injured, mothers, and the pups who were too young to fight, were moved to a different den in the valley that Loki hopefully didn't know about, but the rest of us would not give up our home without a fight.
