Alexandra. She was a complicated person. She always fell hard. She always felt things others couldn't, and saw the details in everything.
It had always been who she was. She didn't mind it much. She learned how to deal with her always emotional state.
"Alex come on, one trip to the mall won't kill you." Alexandra's friend Kate whined, spinning around in circles on Alex's chair in her room. Alex rolled her eyes.
"No, I already told you. We went yesterday. I am practically broke."
"We don't have to shop. It is just something to do to pass time." Kate shrugged her shoulders and pouted her lip. She stopped spinning in the chair and looked at Alex.
"Why would you want to pass time? We are only here for a short while and-"
"I swear to god don't go all extentential on me." Kate warned glaring at Alex. Alex just smiled, thinking of the smartest way to get Kate to stop and the pros and cons of all the different possibilities.
"Whatever, fine. You win." Alex said while sighing. She picked her old black bag off her bed and grumbled all the way down the stairs with Kate shouting with delight behind her.
--
Alex picked up one of the many underwear at Victoria's Secret and showed it to Kate.
"Yes!" Kate squealed and grabbed it. Alex rolled her eyes but kept looking.
"Hey." Someone said, and Alex looked up. She came face to face with a tall and lean guy who had blondish brown long wavy hair and bright hazel eyes.
"Erm, hi?" She said, slightly confused. It was inappropriate for him to be here. Unless he was here with his girlfriend. And Alex was pretty sure he wasn't.
The guy pointed to a pair of thongs Alex was holding. "Those are nice." Alex blushed slightly then scowled at the guy.
"Get the fuck away from me you perv." She said, tossing the thongs somewhere in the big pile on the table. The guy laughed and Alex started to back away. Kate had somehow disappeared into the background. Alex's anger got stronger on the thought of Kate. That damn Virgo.
The guys raised his hands in the hair and gave a slightly 'sorry-I'm-not-so-bad' face. "God, I'm sorry. I was just joking around."
Alex shook her head. "That was gross dude. And weird."
The guy shrugged his shoulders. "That's who I am." He blushed. "Not really though."
Alex laughed. "Weird for sure." She leaned up against the table where the underwear was and the guy did the same thing.
"I'm Ashton." He said after a few minutes, pushing a hand through his thick wavy hair. Alex couldn't help but stare at it muscular arms that were showing because of his tank.
Alex bit her lip. "Alex. Well really Alexandra, but only people close to me call me that." She laughed nervously and Ashton chuckled.
Alex looked around for Kate. No where.
"You are cute." Ashton said, giving her a sly smile. "Adorable really."
Alex blushed. "You aren't to bad yourself." Ashton threw his head back and laughed. He walked a bit closer to Alex and placed his hand on her shoulder. Alex gulped but didn't move. He wouldn't try anything here. This was freaking Victoria's Secret.
Suddenly the image of Luke raced through Alex's mind. Luke was so sweet and innocent. She couldn't do this.
"Sorry." She blurted out, moving out of Ashton's grasp. A few ladies shopping looked up, alarmed at Alex's sudden outburst. Alex rubbed her arm nervously and Ashton gave her a confused look.
"I- I'm dating someone else. Sorry." She sputtered out. It wasn't even true.
"Oh." Ashton said, his face getting red. "I wouldn't had done anything if I had known...."
"Well." Alex sighed, backing away from Ashton slowly. "Now you know." She gave him a smirk then turned and walked out of Victoria's Secret, to go find her friend.
