Dear Santa,

My name is Percilla Jackson, but mommy and my friends call me Percy. I am 6 years old!

For Christmas, I really really really want my daddy to come home! I never met him, but mommy said he's super nice and he loves me lots! She told me that he's lost at sea, so can you please bring him back? Pretty please? I really want him to come home because then he can take us away from Smelly Gabe!

My teacher told me I had to change my gift. I would like to have the new mermaid Barbie doll then please.

Thank you!

Percy Jackson did NOT have daddy issues, thank you very much

Percy Jackson did NOT have daddy issues, thank you very much.

She knew what the signs were: low self-esteem, trust issues, people-pleasing tendencies, jealousy or overprotectiveness in relationships, idealizing men, seeking avoidant or emotionally unavailable partners, and repeatedly entering toxic relationships. She exhibited none of those and thank GODS for that.

What she did have was a complicated relationship with her father, the god of the seas.

...Perhaps 'complicated' was too harsh of a word. Their relationship was... well, it was there. Admittedly, they had a better bond compared to the bonds that other campers had with their godly parent. They had seen each other a handful of times, he gave her a birthday present once, and hey! She even got to visit his house down in Atlantis (though that was only because the ship she and Beckendorf were infiltrating had blown up and she landed down there and Poseidon hadn't really, you know, invited her to visit but whatever)! And one time, he even hugged her (of course, it only took him sixteen years to do so and she had to be forced to the frontlines of a fucking war and watch her friends die BEFORE she could get that hug, but oh well)!

See? She had it better than most.

But sometimes she couldn't help but feel dissatisfied by it all. Call her selfish, but didn't she deserve more? Didn't she deserve better? She wanted more than this barely there relationship with her father. Poseidon was nice, but he felt more like a distant relative than a father. He was like that rich wine aunt that visited you a couple times a year; friendly and nice to be around, but that familial bond faded away once they were gone. She knew the reason why gods stayed away from their kids and she knew Poseidon kept her at arms length to keep her safe from the wrath of the Ancient Laws, but for once, she wanted him to say 'fuck it' and finally be a dad to her.

Very soon—like, literally the next chapter soon—Percy was going to learn a very important lesson: be careful what you wish for.

Because who knew the universe was actually going to listen to her for once and send her to an alternate version of her dad. This was probably their idea of a funny joke because this Poseidon—this terrifying, apathetic, big-tittied Poseidon—somehow managed to be worse than all of the gods back home combined. How was she supposed to survive long enough to find a way back while under his tyrannical rule?

...Maybe if she acted cute he wouldn't kill her?

(Spoiler alert: it works a little too well...)

❦━━━━ WARNINGS (AGAIN) . . .
▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃

these are the most important warnings for the first act:

- incest! i am not kidding here, three of the love interests are poseidon, hades, and apollo, who are her father, uncle, and cousin respectively. percy actually refers to them as family and vice versa. they 100% see her as a member of the family, but have romantic and sexual feelings for her regardless because they don't care.

- depression, trauma, & suicidal ideation. you can mostly blame beelzebub and percy for these for obvious reasons lol.

- worldbuilding. i know that there are some people who don't like this so i'm putting this here. i do a lot of worldbuilding (some involve me changing canon) in the ror-verse

- if you haven't read/watched percy jackson or record of ragnarok, then i suggest you do! you don't really need to, especially since i'm doing a lot of changes to ror, but i recommend it to avoid any confusion. but if you choose not to, then you should still be fine (i think?)
