Sanemi's eyes shot open.
He sat up on the bed, looking around. He realized he was in the butterfly estate. He looked at his body, he wasn't badly injured. Only some cuts here and there on his body. He threw the covers away and stand up.
"Ah, Shinazugawa-san! Please don't move yet!" Kanzaki Aoi told him when she saw Sanemi walking out from his room.
"Where's she?" Sanemi asked, his breaths racing.
"Who are you talking about? Shinobu-sama?" Aoi asked.
"Shiori." Her name rolled out from his lips for the first time ever.
Aoi was confused as she didn't know the name. Before she could say anything, Shinobu placed a hand on her shoulder. She gave her a smile and told her to continue her work.
"Shinazugawa-san, you shouldn't be moving you know? You're slowing down your own recovery." Shinobu reprimanded him.
"Do I look like I care? Where's she?" He repeated his question and Shinobu could only sigh.
"She's in my room. The other rooms are full." Shinobu answered.
"Don't worry, she's no longer in danger. She has an incredible healing ability, an ordinary human would've died as soon as the poison reached their hearts." She reassured him.
"When is she going to wake up?" Sanemi asked again.
"Anytime soon. Now, if you would return to your room and rest-"
"Where's the kid?"
Shinobu kept a smile despite an irk mark appearing on her face. She mentally noted to herself to make Sanemi's medicine extra bitter later.
"Are you talking about Sayu-chan? She has safely returned to her house with someone who claims to be Shiori-san's fiance." She said, emphasizing the last part of her sentence.
Sanemi sighed in relief, at least he has nothing to worry about anymore.
"Actually, Sayu-chan has been visiting you every day. She's such a sweet child." Shinobu beamed.
"Every day? How long was I out for?"
"Two days approximately. That's quite fast considering how the other hunters are still unconscious."
Two days and Sayu didn't get to see her sister waking up. The little girl must've felt devastated right now.
"Excuse me, Shinazugawa-san. But must I remind you that Shiori-san is engaged to another man?" Shinobu suddenly asked.
"So? What does that have to do with me?"
"You can't fool me, Shinazugawa-san." Shinobu tilted her head, now giving him a questioning smile.
"You don't know anything..." Sanemi mumbled, catching Shinobu's attention.
"Care to elaborate about what I don't know?" She asked, her smile vanishing. It was replaced with a thin line now, showing the seriousness in her face. "I'm guessing this has something to do with all the bruises on her body?"
"... So you saw." Sanemi muttered.
"You already knew about it?" Shinobu's eyes widened. She placed a hand on her mouth, showing a shocked face. "I never knew you were that kind of man, Shinazugawa-san."
"The hell are you talking about?!" Sanemi hollered at her and she simply laughed.
"I'm joking." She said.
"Tsk. She asked me to keep it a secret from everyone but if you already know then I don't have to cover it up." Sanemi mumbled.
"Piecing things up together, has her fiance been abusing her?" She asked.
