Mind wandering off, Sanemi sat on the chair. He just finished his last checkup at the butterfly estate and was waiting for the result. If everything is good, he won't have to return for another checkup.

But he doesn't care about that. He's currently thinking about a certain girl who, once again, turned cold towards him. Sure, he hasn't visited her again since that day when she first woke up because, well, he's a bit embarrassed for hugging her suddenly.

Anyway, they both met in the hallway yesterday and she didn't bother to talk to him. She only gave him an acknowledging nod before walking away. It made Sanemi a bit disappointed.

Although he, himself, didn't have any intentions to greet her.

"Shinazugawa-san, you're free to go now." Aoi informed him, snapping him out from his thoughts.

"Thanks." He muttered.

He stood up from his chair, adjusting the blade on his belt. He then saw a familiar person walking into the butterfly estate. With a sigh, he looked away but the person saw him.

He cursed under his breath when the person made his way toward him.

"You're still here?"

Sanemi glared at Izuru.

"You've already healed, why are you still here?"

"It's none of your fucking business, you don't know shit about us demon hunters." Sanemi spat.

He then noticed Izuru was holding a basket of apples and a reading book. He could read the book title. Izuru noticed what Sanemi was staring at. He raised the book in his hand.

"The Language of Flowers, do you read it too?" He asked and Sanemi was surprised with his question. Why would he care if he has read that book or not?

"Why should I read about flowers..." He murmured.

"It's Shiori's favourite book."

Sanemi stared at Izuru as if he was an idiot.

"So? What does that have to do with me?" Sanemi questioned.

"You don't even know what Shiori likes." Izuru scoffed.

Veins popped out on Sanemi's head as Izuru walked away. He couldn't believe he really did ask that just to remind him of how clueless he is about Shiori. And to annoy him of course.

It irritates him, knowing how close they actually are, but what can he do? He just met Shiori three months ago while that man lives with her for more than five years.

Sanemi saw a certain pink haired girl walking out from Shiori's room before Izuru walked in. She gave him a bow and she made her way toward Sanemi.

...

Wait what?

"Shinazugawa-san! I see that you've recovered!" Mitsuri beamed at him, smiling widely.

Having lost his opportunity to escape, Sanemi groaned and reluctantly let the girl blabber on.

"Thank you very much for saving Shiori-chan! I thought my heart stopped when I heard she's in a critical condition!" Mitsuri bowed profusely. "Shiori-chan said she's also glad to see you're doing well!"

"She said that?" Sanemi asked suddenly.

"Yes! She looks so happy when she said that too! She's very thankful for you!" Mitsuri nodded.

Sanemi looked at Mitsuri with doubt painted all over his face.

"By the way, is something wrong, Shinazugawa-san? I can sense that you're not acting like your usual self." She asked.
