Akatsuki's Favor - Chapter 28

"I want you to fight me, Kan-chan!" Taro shouted, drawing out a kunai.

I stared blankly, quite surprised by his actions. He wants to spar with me? 'He just fucking challenged me?!' I laughed nervously, not knowing if I should accept. Then again, how would he learn how to fight. Though, I don't want him thinking I'm a monster if I panic. "Okay," I nodded while summoning my katana behind my back, so he would think I only pulled it out from my kimono. "Let's battle, Taro-chan!" I recalled, with a bright smile.

He spunked up his fist into the air, cheering that I've accepted. With that chance, I appeared by his side with a kick into his gut. "Number one rule, never go off guard." I stated, as he flew back a few feet. If I kicked harder, he wouldn't ever stop flying until enough trees stop him. "Errr... Right," He nodded as he stood, positioning his fighting stance.

I didn't break the determined smirk on his face, which made me impressed. "Quite surprised that you've asked a lady to spar with you." I admitted, dodging his weak attempts of swinging. "A lady on her own has to be strong enough to take care of herself, right?" Taro questioned, jumping towards me as I jumped. "A child should be much more aware of his opponent." I replied, slipping his kunai out of his grip with a clash of my katana. He clumsy falls to the ground, "No fair!" Taro whines, staring up at my figure as I stood over him.

I giggled at his disappointment, "Don't worry, you're fighting an expert." I winked, giving him a hand to help. He glares at my hand before taking it, and doesn't move as he grips it. With confusion, I could sense another coming. "Now Katsu!" Taro calls out, not releasing my hand.

With that, I was knocked into the ground by the animal. Of course, I could've easily dodged it, but kids need to feel strong to stay motivated. It keeps them inspired, if they keep losing, they'll eventually give up. Laughing as Katsu jumps into my lap, licking my face clean. Taro smiles as big as ever, proud of his sly plan. "Goodjob, Taro-chan." I nodded, giving him the praise he deserves. "Kan-chan, how come you like to be alone?" Taro suddenly asks, sitting across from me in the mossy grass. I was almost taken aback from how much he's getting into my privacy, but I could see why he's curious. Though, I wonder if this kid has a family at all either. "I never said I like to be alone, I guess I haven't found anybody special, to my interest at least." I explained, stroking Katsu's neck fur as he settled down into my lap.

Taro shrugged his shoulders, "Isn't that really lonely? That's okay though! We're finding you somebody." These children must have something against being alone, they're not going to leave this to be. I'm flattered, but I'm sure I can find somebody that's meant to be for me. "Hey, we're back!" Jun shouted from afar, everyone along side him besides Kou. I braced myself to meet these two men that they've brought, but I stared at Deidara the entire walk towards my direction. "This is Hayato! He's rich." Mai introduced the navy headed man, "And this is Taoko, he's in the ANBU!" Kai brought the other man to my sight, he had violet hair. Neither of them came to my interest, "Girls, I'm sorry but I really just don't need somebody to take care of-" I was cut off by a familiar cheering and cursing.

"Hey, wait! I brought this guy!" Kou screamed, pulling a man behind him. The man looked extremely annoyed, by the look of his expression. Kou pants as he arrives in front of me, I look up at the standing men. As I stood, I took a good look at the silver haired man, which was recently brought here. "What the fuck am I doing here, you little shit?!" Kou sighed, then chuckled embarrassingly as he scratched the back of his head. 'H-Hidan?! SERIOUSLY?!' I immediately blushed at the sight of him, once Deidara noticed it was Hidan; he bursted out laughing.

The two other men were confused, "Hahahaha, H-Hidan?!" Deidara laughed, holding his gut as he tries to settle down. Kou raises an eyebrow, confused how would Deidara would know the man, that he's found for Kanna. "Oi, what the fuck are you two shits doing here?" Hidan asked, still pissed off that he was dragged here. "I should be asking you the same thing," I retorted, embarrassed that the kids have to see me with this impolite man. Taro, however, was interested on how I knew him.

"So, HE'S your boyfriend?!" Kou shouted, with excitement along with his two fists in front of his chest. Mai and Kai had smug looks on their faces, "Ooooooooh, Kanna-sempai has a booooyfriend!" They synced together, causing my cheeks to go pink. Hidan raised an eyebrow at their whooping and cheering, then turning his attention back towards me. It terrified to see that he also had a smug look on his face, "Oi, babe, come with me." I glared at his nicknaming for me, now was not the time to be playing house.

"No, he's not my-" "Oi, let's go!" Hidan cuts me off, pulling me along back to the village. After a few blocks of walking in silent, he finally stops and releases his grip on my wrist. "Hidan?" I question, wondering why he's out here. "Why aren't you at the fucking house?" Hidan asked, referring the house as the Akatsuki base. I furrowed my brows, 'What am I, his kid?' I turned away to walk back to where I came from, but only to be stopped by a tug on my right wrist. "Don't ignore me, bitch." He growls, then pulls me back closer to him; not letting go of my arm this time.

I look up at his tall figure with a frown, "Hi-san?" I whined, not knowing the reason of his rude behavior. Hidan sighed, then smacked his forehead into mine, quite harmfully but not too harsh. I blinked before staring into his magenta eyes, "Let's get out of here," he whispered, snaking his arms around my waist. Confused yet turned on by his sudden action, I was somewhat speechless. I wanted to hold him as tightly as I could forever, let him fall asleep in the crook of my neck at night. I slowly closed my eyes, and brought my hands up to cup his cheeks as his face still rested onto mine. It was relaxing, I never felt so relaxed like this before. Not ever since I took my first dunk in the hot spring with my mother, which was an amazing memory.

"Somebody help! Taro's drowning!" Jun screeched from afar, which horrified my senses.
