"Somebody help! Taro's drowning!" Jun screeched from afar, which horrified my senses.
My eyes snapped open, pulling away from Hidan's comforting embrace. I had to go help Taro, the children are in danger. I could hear Hidan's low growl as he knew I was about to escape from his view again, "Hana-san, you bitch." He mutters as I teleported out of his arms, returning to the plain field once again. I saw the kids in a bundle nearby the deep swamp, that was near the left end of the field. "Kan-chan!" The children shout, the two men were gone, and Deidara was standing in the water. The dark dirty water reached up to his thighs as he searched for the child, Taro Yuu.
"What happened?" I rushed into the water, joining Deidara on his search. Not giving a second thought about getting my kimono wet, though it was short. I could hear Jun bickering about Deidara forbidding them to get in the water, since Taro drowned. Then the twins mentioned that Taro has never drowned before in his life, he was the best swimmer out of them. Though, I couldn't help but pity Kou's depressing expression.
At this time, I had to do something, seriously. Kou finally gave out a loud grunt of devastation, and ran into the water to find his best friend. Without thinking of a explanation for later, I opened my glowing fist, summoning my tidal wave tessen. As my eyes glew furiously blue fury, I gave Deidara and Kou a quick glance. Deidara cautiously watched my moves, slipping his own hand into his clay pouch that he brought for his own emergency reasons. He didn't know whether to go against me or not, so he kept his distance and position. Deciding that it was best to watch me, other than giving up his close friendship title. Kou stopped his fussing in the water, studying my actions from afar. 'You can't just leave your friends, Taro-chan.' I threw my hand with the closed tessen into the air; commanding the swampy water to rush into the sky. 'They're your family too.' I pulled my arm back to my side, whipping the fan open, causing the water to separate in groups.
Widening my eyes at the sight of the unconscious boy, I dashed into the air, pulling the boy into my arms. With the lightest thud onto the grassy surface, I carefully placed the child down. Mai and Kai, the twins, immediately rushed over to check on their spunky friend. "Taro!" Kou cried out, running over to my side. I dismissed my kekkei genkai, which let the water fell straight back into the muddy swamp hole. Deidara cursed under his breath as the water fell onto him as well, which made his clay pouch get wet.
I knew I was going to have to figure out an explanatory for Deidara, I couldn't let him blow my cover too soon. Though, it was for a good reason; Taro. Letting the child drown while knowing I could do something to save him, isn't my priority. The female twins begin to use a healing jutsu on their good friend, Kou watched dreadfully before hitting Taro's chest. It didn't work, so with another powerful hit onto his chest, the boy jerks up. "Yuu-chan!" Jun exclaimed as Taro coughed out water from his lungs. I could feel all the weight being lifted from my shoulders, it was a miracle; he survived.
What I wanted to know, out of curiosity, was how and why was he drowning. "Kan-chan," I focused my attention to the voice who've called me, "Thank you." It was Taro, he had a weak smile on his face. He looked worn out, but still thrived to be himself with a goofy smile. Kou was the first to tackle the saved boy, "You idiot, what were you thinking?!" sounding as if he's been crying for hours, weeks. I adored the sight of the children's cheering and praising, but I noticed Taro's unusual reacting.
Deidara soon arrived to my side, wrapping his arm around my shoulders. "Kanna," he greets, "Goodjob." I grinned towards him, which prompted to a huge smile after seeing his damp blonde hair hanging down past his shoulders. He turned his head away, with a slight blush on his cheeks. He's probably embarrassed to have his hair down in my sight, but I find it adorable. I wonder if he'll let me braid his hair, that'll be a fun experience.
Turning back to the group below me, I noticed that Taro has begin to cry. Looked away for a split second and this has happened, "What's wrong, kiddo?" I asked, sitting down on the ball of my feet. Watching as he shakes his head, "K-Katsu, he drowned!" Widening my eyes at the words spoken, I couldn't believe it. Taro jumped in to save his dog, he risked his life for his best friend.
Kou and the others bowed their heads down in depression and respect, for their animal friend. It wasn't long until Hidan once again showed up, perhaps at the wrong time as well. "What the fuck are you bastards doing?!" He shouted, walking towards us from a distance. Deidara glared at the Jashinist, "Shut up, you're ruining the prayer, un!" Prayer? Deidara feels horrible about what happened as well, I assume.
Hidan scoffed, then he became quiet after noticing my sad expression. "Oi, you're sad too?" I nodded, watching the man above me ponder. He then sat next to me, "What kind of fucking prayer is this?" Hidan asked, glancing over at the silent miniature adults. "Katsu, our dog." Kou answered, he's quite a brave soul for responding to an immortal killer like Hidan. Though he doesn't know that Hidan's an immortal murderer, but I would assume you'd get an eerie feeling as a kid.
"A fucking dog?!" He replied, quite annoyed over nonsense in his opinion. I quickly nudged my elbow into his side, hoping that he'll just play along, for the children's sake. Hearing his sigh, made me relax in relief. Deidara sat on the other side of me, which made the children move to make a circle out of us. Whenever I saw the children holding hands, I gracefully took Hidan's hand into my left one, then Deidara's to my right. They were both hesitate at first, but relaxed into my small hands anyway.
Amazed to see that Hidan's holding hands with Taro without throwing a fit, it made me think he really has a sweet side. Hidan had his eyes closed, along with the children. It was genuine of my friends to do something that I'd do in a split second, it showed how much I've rubbed off towards them. Closing my eyes in a drift, I silently prayed to my lord for Katsu's respect and honor.
"Kan-chan," Kou spoke, getting everyone's attention.
