Malik Mansion, Delhi

──────── ✧ ──────────

Aamira in her drunken state, pouted and said, "Dev, are you there? ". A husky laugh came from the other end, "Yes, Princess. I am right here. Now tell me, are you drunk? ". Aadil clenched his jaw on hearing the nickname, 'Princess'. That was his 'Princess ', not this asshole's! The only reason he didn't cut the call was because HIS Princess was sick as if this thing made her happy, he would let her have it, for now.

Aamira scowled on the phone and sadly said, "No, but I don't feel good. And I can't meet you. I am in Delhi, with my ex-family." Ouch. That. Hurt. The person on the other end, Dev, apparently changed his tone from a playful one to a strict one, "Zara, can you pass the phone to one of your ex-family members? Please, Princess."Aamira obeyed immediately and passed her phone to the person who was hugging him to his chest, Aadil and passed him her phone, unwillingly. It shocked the others how quickly she agreed to everything that Dev said.

Aadil cleared his throat and put the phone to his ear, asking, "Hello, who is this? " The man on the other side nearly gave him a heart attack with the harshness in his voice, a complete switch from the soft gentle tone he held with his daughter,

"What is my soon-to-be-wife doing in your house instead of having a date with me right now, Mr. Malik? And what have you fed her? If anything happens to my Zara, father or not, I will sue you. Remember that! "

Arsalan, Amir and Aadil's rage spiked up hearing the so-called 'Dev ' threaten them when in reality, he had stolen their Zara. Amir sneered into the phone, his voice a higher pitch because of anger, "Who the fuck do you think you are threatening? If we want, we can remove your existence so watch your words."

A dark chuckle echoed from the other end, "I know very well who I am talking to, but it seems that you are unaware about who you are threatening. Devraj Aydin Raichand is the name. Normally I would have greeted my to-be-father-in-law and brothers-in-law with more respect, but you don't deserve it."

The Maliks looked at each other in recognition, Devraj Aydin Raichand, the Don of the Indian Mafia as well as a known businessman. This man had anger that was fatal and it shocked and worried Aadil how Aamira managed to put up with him. He had major anger issues and was ruthless in both business and Underground. Amir clenched his jaw tightly listening to Devraj and snapped at him, angrily, "First off, you aren't going to be related to my sister any longer than you have been. Forget being her fiancé, I will personally make sure that she cuts all her ties from you."

A dark chuckle rang in the phone, making Amir and the others confused. "You are a lot like your sister, Amir. Witty replies, quick to oppose. If I didn't love Zara as much as I do, you would be twelve feet underground by now, so watch your words around me. And please pass the phone to your mother."

Amir grit his teeth listening to the threat, but he knew that it was true. Hesitantly, he passed the phone to his mother, who had dozed off Aamira in her lap as she caressed her hair lovingly. Amir put the phone on speaker and nearly got a whiplash from the tone change from the other side, "Namaste, Mrs. Malik. Devraj Raichand, Aamira's fiance. I am sorry that we couldn't meet earlier."

Inaya was impressed with the charming mannerisms of the boy. "Namaste, Beta and thank you for taking care of my daughter. Also, please call my Inaya or Aunty. Mrs. Malik makes me sound old." Aadil frowned at the sweet conversation, annoyed with the respect his wife was showing Devraj, but decided that he would talk to her later.

"Ok, Aunty. Umm....can you please watch over Zara for a few days? I mean make sure that she eats healthy and takes care of herself. I know she can be a little stubborn and rebellious when she is sick, not listening to anyone and doing what she wants to . I apologize in advance for her behavior."

If Inaya was impressed with his manners, his evident love and care for her daughter warmed her heart even more. Arsalan scowled at his words and snapped into the phone, his tone blank and dismissive, "She is her daughter. I am pretty sure she knows how to take care of her own daughter. Still, thank you for your words of wisdom Einstein."

Inaya glared hardly at Arsalan and gushed into the phone, apologetic and embarrassed, "I am sorry for that. He should not have talked to you like Beta. And don't worry, I will make sure her fever and migraine disappears in a day. It's a mother's promise. If your fiancé is stubborn, I am her mother. I will see how she crosses me."

Devraj formally addressed Inaya for the last time before bidding her bye, "It's alright Aunty, I don't take their words to mind. Also, please try to apologize to your daughter. She might act like she hates you but she would really love it if her family could be there when we get married."

Arsalan's scowl turned into anger, while Amir and Aadil were fuming. What does he mean by 'when we get married!' Their wedding was not going to happen, all the Malik men would make sure of it. They had just gotten Aamira back, no way in hell were they willing to share her with this man, regardless of how powerful and responsible he is.

Inaya hung up the phone, glaring at the men in the room, who gulped in fear seeing her honey-brown orbs narrow. She covered Aamira with a blanket and adjusted the pillows around her, making sure that she is comfortable. Once she was done, she gestured for the men to come out by using her hand. The men understood why she didn't want to yell over here and wake up Aamira. Aadil, Arsalan and Amir grumpily walked out, muttering curses towards Devraj as they walked out.

Downstairs all the Maliks were waiting for an update regarding Aamira's health. Abidah has to physically restrain her sons, husband and grandsons from barging into her room. She breathed a sigh of relief when she saw Inaya and Aadil coming down. Abbas hurriedly asked, "What happened? What did the doctor say? She will be fine right? "

Inaya smiled at his care and answered, "Yes, Abbu. She is fine now. The careless girl has not eaten for a long time and is taking too much stress. That's why she has a fever and migraine. The doctor gave her an injection and right now she is sleeping."

The rest of the Maliks sighed in relief hearing that. Aamira is ok, thank god for that. Arsalan seemed to be in deep thought when Abidah shook him, "Bete, what are you thinking about?"

"Dadi, I think we need to get someone else to fight the case." He said, continuing further when he saw the gobsmack looks on his family member's faces, "Bunny is sick. I don't want her to stress about the case. Or else her health will only worsen. We will find someone else."

Abbas frowned at what Arsalan had said and proudly responded, "Arre, nothing of that sort will happen. Vo meri sher puttar hai. You wait and watch how she wins the case and gets well in just a few days! Khoteya, don't you dare underestimate my only granddaughter."

Arsalan tried to argue that but was shut off by a glare from his grandfather, one that told him and the rest of the family members that this topic was not up for discussion. Unwillingly, he shut up and obeyed. All the Maliks were worried about Aamira's health which is why neither Amir, Arsalan, Aadil or Inaya mentioned Devraj. But one thing was for sure, Aamira being Devraj Aydin Raichand's fiancé was going to create a lot of trouble in the Malik household.
