Once the coffees were done and Lara confirmed the bracers could manifest Morgan's "standard loadout" Alex remembered their earlier conversation, which quickly led to Morgan having to shoo the now very energised S tier out of the comparatively fragile lab. Despite Alex's attempts to rush them, Morgan insisted on walking to the training rooms instead of either of them teleporting. Which was making Alex quite insufferable.

'You could literally snap your fingers-'

'No.'

'I could snap my fingers!'

'You don't know where the training rooms are.'

'Which could be fixed by either, you telling me. Or, you just teleporting us there.' Morgan rolled their eyes at Alex, but didn't otherwise respond, leaving him to huff. 'Oh come on!'

'I thought you'd want to explore the lair?' Morgan asked, amused.

'Yes. The fun parts. Where you keep your weapons, and test your death ray.'

'I don't have a death ray.'

Alex's jaw dropped, 'What kind of self-respecting A tier villain doesn't have a death ray?!'

Morgan sniggered, 'They're basic.' They laughed at the offended look on Alex's face, nudging his arm as they turned down another corridor. 'Besides, it meant we had more time and resources to build these bad boys,' they lifted their arms to show off the bracers, walking backwards for a moment to grin at Alex.

Alex rolled his eyes at that, 'Those are pretty cool.'

'Pretty cool?' Morgan laughed, 'Okay, that energy drain I did to Aceman? I can use that to steal any power. And then once I've stolen a power I can replicate it as much as I want.' Alex tilted his head at that, smiling as an idea started to form, and Morgan realised it at the same time. 'Correction, any A tier or lower power.'

'Aww,' Alex whined, 'I want to see what happens if you try to take mine.'

'It will end badly for one of us,' Morgan said. 'Either the sheer volume of your power will fry them for good and me along with it,' Alex paled at the thought, 'or if they were somehow strong enough to drain your energy and survive? Well, they would drain your energy.'

Alex snorted, 'Oh no, how terrible! Whatever will I do? Except make some more?'

Morgan's brow furrowed, 'That's...don't...be so flippant about that okay? I've drained all sorts with these from all tier rankings. The more powerful the person is being drained the more extreme the reaction is from their powers being lost. It might actually fuck you up really badly.'

'Sure,' Alex shrugged, 'if I was a weakling that couldn't get over it.'

Morgan scowled, but before they could continue to argue the corridor ended with a set of double doors. From the other side there was a mass of sounds, of boots on concrete, of the pop of gunfire, of thuds and slams, and Alex perked up. That sounded like fighting.

Pressing their hand to the sensor, Morgan pushed open the doors, revealing a massive wing filled with concrete and metal. Across the walls and ceiling were various boards, planks and ledges, hooks and ropes, which came together to a rather extreme obstacle training course, with a large net suspended about ten feet in the air to catch those attempting it. On the ground floor were people fighting and sparring, whether in hand to hand or with poles and blunt weapons. In an offshoot of the wing Alex could hear a gun range being used, varying from the pop of handguns to the rattle of military grade rifles. Morgan gave him a moment to take it all in, smirking when Alex finally turned back to them, 'Thoughts?'

'You definitely should have shown me this place first.'

Morgan chuckled, watching a couple of henchmen nearby wrestle. 'That good huh?'
