When we got to the University, Jay switched off the car and went to get out but I placed my hand on his arm, getting him to stop.
"I need to do this alone."
"Ha. No."
There was no point in arguing, he wasn't going to listen to me so I just agreed and now he's waking behind me, up to Abby's room.
I knocked on the door and it swung open, her roommate holding the door as she sighed and rolled her eyes.
"I wanted sleep."
"Shouldn't you be in class?" Asked Jay.
"Called in sick." She shrugged as she stepped away from the door and got back into her bed.
"Where's Abby?"
"Dunno."
Jay looked around the room, searching through drawers and sifting through paperwork to try and find her location.
"She's in an economics class." Said Jay as he picked up a timetable.
"Wasn't that hard now, was it?" I said as I looked at the roommate.
As we waited around for half an hour outside of the room, Jay became tired and clearly bored because he started asking questions.
"So, what was that at the station? Why did you slap Hank?"
"How much of the file did you read?"
"Only that. Nothing else."
"Promise?"
"I promise." He said as he put his pinky out for me to link with.
"The file-"
"I thought you said you were busy." Interrupted Abby as she walked out.
"Uh...no. Something came up and I got a free afternoon. What did you find?"
We walked outside and I got Jay to sit on a bench and wait for me while I spoke to Abby.
"She was at the airport but was kidnapped. The video is on here as well as the other two of the guys who kidnapped her."
"She was kidnapped?" I asked, my eyes filling with tears.
"Yeah. You knew her?"
"No, no. Not personally but she's a cop. She's one of us." I said as I turned slightly to look at Jay.
"Yeah. I'm sorry but hopefully Niko can identify the men."
"Yeah. Here's 2500 for now. You get the rest when I get stuff on Kyle."
"Got it. This'll help for now."
"Thanks again."
"So, where are we off to next?" Asked Jay.
"The FBI."
"Oh. That sounds fun."
"You're like a child."
The drive was quiet as we listened to the radio and watched the world go by. I didn't need to fill the air with useless talk and he's probably forgotten the conversation from before so what's the point in bringing it up again. I shouldn't have said anything. I don't trust him nor do I really know him.
"Do you like me?" I asked him.
"Yeah."
"You don't have to lie."
"You annoy me. It's because I don't know anything about you. You act like you don't care yet when that house blew up, you ran straight over and past a blazing window. I don't why you do it, maybe it's a safety thing but I want to get to know you. I want to be someone you can trust. I know you like me and Kevin, maybe you don't trust us but you definitely like us."
