Marco pushes open the humongous doors. The light from inside the room was now invading the darkly lit hallway.
It was night time and everything that can cause ripples to peoples lives happens at night. The coverage of darkness made it so easy to get away with things that couldn't be done in the day. Theft, murder, arson, and countless other unspeakable crimes.
This hostile takeover being one of them.
As the doors fully opens, we get a full view into the pristine thrown room. A long bright red carpet leading towards the giant gold thrown with various diamonds decorating it. The thrown sat on top of a bunch of stairs with a desk in front of it. Behind the desk sitting in the thrown, was none other than the queen.
The monster in disguise wearing a crown.
"What the hell are you doing?" She screeches at us standing up from her thrown and slamming her closed fists on the table with a bang. "Guards! Arrest these children and put them back in their cells in the basement this instant!"
Twelve guards were in the room, six on each of her side. They stare menacingly at us while walking down the steps with loud thuds from their clunky ass boots.
"Get a load of these guys thinking they're so tough." I chuckle finding genuine amusement in this.
"Don't taunt the royal guards! We're doing this for your own protection!" The queen is seething mad. I haven't seen someone this pissed off in a while. Her face is a shade of dark red—almost darker then my hair—, her eyebrows are furrowed and she grit her teeth.
Yet... in her eyes I can see worry while looking at us.
Why was that?
"I want those two," Ace points out the ones on the left.
Cracking my knuckles, I nod towards the other two pulling out tranquilizer guns. It had large clips which ran to the ground and was filled with tranquilizers. I've never seen anything like that and it piqued my interested. "Those ones are mine."
"The two beside y/n." Thatch pulls out a pair of knives as the pair he picked have long swords drawn.
"Far right." Marco claims lighting up his arms into flaming blue wings.
Deuce points out the ones he wants with a small smirk. "I got those two."
"We'll handle those last ones." Kiatra informs and Rayz nods beside her. Both of them taking on one as they didn't have the energy to take on two.
"Don't die." I run forward noticing the way the guards turned off safety and had their hands on the trigger.
Ace snorts as he's close by me. His footsteps echoing behind mine as the heat of his flames makes the cold room a little warmer.
My eyes become focused and my breathing slows to the point where I can feel every single breath that comes in and out of my lungs. I was hypersensitive to every little motion. Time slowed down for me in these moments as I noticed things people without Haki couldn't.
One guard had the eye of the tiger while pointing the tranquilizer gun at me. He had perfect aim as I noticed by the trajectory, it would hit me right in the neck, probably pierce a vein too. My guess is it's not lethal but that didn't mean I was going to let one hit me.
I tilt my head to the side just as the first guard pushes the trigger. The dart just misses me and I keep running forward.
More darts are being shot at me as I jump over, slide under and twirl around them. Each dart missing me as the tassels of my hat move with me. They didn't get in my way at all like my brothers would think.
