(Morning; Rui pov)
After being tormented by his thoughts for most of the night, Rui walked the halls of Kamiyama High, looking for a friend to talk to before the bell rang.
He spotted Mizuki's candy pink hair in the distance and blushed slightly, heat rising up to tint his cheeks a rosy red.
He turned away before he could think about talking to her, and behind him was the multi-blue boy himself, Toya.
"Toya! Do you have a minute?" Rui asked him.
Toya glanced at his phone to look at the time. "Yeah, I do. Do you need anything?"
Rui glanced around before lowering his voice. "I need to talk to you during lunch. You're not in trouble or anything, I just need... help."
Toya raised his eyebrows slightly before responding. It was a rather rare sight for a upperclassman to ask for help from his underclassmen. "Okay. Should I meet you on the roof?"
Rui nodded. "That works. I'll see you there then." He hurriedly walked away as the warning bell rang.
[time skip: on the roof]
Toya sat behind the doorway to the rooftop, shaded from the sun.
The door to the rooftop clicked open, causing Toya to turn his head.
"Kamishiro, over here." Toya waved him over.
Rui made his way to Toya, his usual smirk curling his lips now replaced with a slightly worried grin.
"Hello again, Aoyagi. Thank you for waiting for me."
"Of course. What was the thing you needed help with?"
Rui placed his hands in his pants pockets, glancing out past the roof. "You know how me and Mizuki are..."
Toya wasn't sure whether or not he would finish the sentence. He will admit, it was hard for him to say
y/n was his girlfriend in the beginning, too.
"Yes, I know."
"Well, let's just say that the relationship started as a joke.
But now...
I don't think it's a joke anymore."

Toya widened his eyes slightly, but nodded. "I understand what you mean, I think."
Rui raised his eyebrow in curiosity. "Is that how you and y/n got together? By a joke?"
Toya chuckled softly, remembering the cup noodle scenario. "A joke was a big factor in us getting together, but it wasn't the entire reason."
Rui nodded. "I see. So you two actually have mutual feelings for each other."
"Yes. y/n is the other half of my heart."
