With school starting a day ago and already having 2 projects and an assignment to do, Renèe was already tired of school. This weekend she couldn't even go out and relax. Renèe rolled her eyes at the thought of a stressful weekend.
Thankfully Renèe only had 2 classes today and she was just finished with her second one.
Renèe got in her car and drove off campus to a get some lunch. She was headed to a popular Jamaican restaurant about 10mins from her house. She was planning on take out cause she was ready to go home and take a nap.
Renèe pulled up to the restaurant seeing the place packed, she contemplated going somewhere else but she was already here so might as well.
Renèe walked in and bumped into a familiar face.
"Oh, my bad." Renèe apologize as she made her way to the front of the restaurant
"Renèe? Hey what you doin' here pretty?" Monique said realizing who she was
"I'm tryna get some lunch. My classes ended about 20mins ago." Renèe replied, trying to ignore the nickname
"My classes ended bout 30 minutes ago. I been here for like 15mins. This place been packed." Monique said
"I can see why. They food good." Renèe responded
"Really? It's my first time coming here." Monique said
"What'd you get?" Renèe asked the girl
"Jerk chicken and rice with plantains." Monique said
Renèe reached the front of the line and ordered her food.
"Hmm. You good then. They know how to make some Jerk chicken." Renèe said after she finished ordering
"Let's go sit down." Monique offered
"So how you been? You barely texted me." Monique said
"Uugh, I'm sorry. I was gonna text you but my professors handing out work like Oprah was handing out cars." Renèe said causing the younger girl to laugh
"Damn, well don't overwork yourself. Take a break." Monique said after laughing
"I was bout to do just that as soon as I got home and eat." Renèe said
"Alright. Well call or text me when you wake up or I will call you at like 5." Monique said standing up
"Bye, pretty girl." Monique said walking away
"Uh, bye." Renèe said
After another 10 minutes, Renèe's name was called and she took her food and left.
Like she said, after a shower and eating she went to go lay in her bed to take a nap.
Renèe woke up at around 4:30, so hopefully she would be able to go to sleep tonight.
The girl went to grab her phone after using the bathroom and washing up, contemplating whether she should call or text the younger girl.
She decided just to call the girl. She gave her the option, so she must've been open to the idea.
After pressing the girl contact, she waited two rings before the call connected.
"Hey pretty girl. Why i can't see you?" Monique said as soon as she picked up
"Hey. I just got up. I'on want you to see me. I don't look good." Renèe said self-consciously
"Girl, you always look pretty. Lemme see you." Monique said softly
"Alright." The girl said before adjusting her phone
"See I was right. How you sleep?" Monique asked with a smile
"I slept good. I needed that." Renèe said
"I could tell." Monique said
"What you mean by that? You just said I always look pretty." Renèe said teasingly
"Not like that. You looked like you was stressed out." The girl said after a chuckle
"I get you. I still am a little bit." Renèe said
"Well lemme take you somewhere this weekend. I wanna know you better and take the stress away." Monique said
"You wanna take me somewhere?" Renèe said, shocked
"Yeah. Is that ok? We don't have to if you dont want to." Monique said, not wanting to pressure the girl
"No, I'll go with you. What you got planned?"
"It's a surprise." Monique said, while Renèe walked towards the door after hearing the bell ring.
"I gotta go someone at the door. Bye Monique." Renèe said
"Bye pretty girl." Monique said before hanging up
Renèe opened the door and was met with Zion.
"Who in here calling you pretty girl?" Zion asked while coming in the apartment searching
"Nobody in here. And it was my friend." Renèe responded
"What friend?" He interrogated
"A new friend. Anyways what you doin' here?" Renèe asked, cutting the boy off before he asked more questions
"I wanted to come see you. I can't do that?" Zion asked
"Nah, it's just I just woke up and I'm tryna relax." Renèe explained
"Well, you wanna watch a movie?" The boy said while taking a seat on the girl's couch
"Uhm, I kinda meant relax by myself." Renèe said hesitantly
"Oh, aight." Zion said getting off the couch and walking towards the door
"It's not that I don't want you here it's just..."
"Nah, you cool. I'll see you later." Zion said cutting the girl off and closing the door
Renèe rolled her eyes, knowing the boy was going to blow the situation out of proportion.
Renèe went to go organize her room, wanting something to take her mind of her irritating boyfriend.
Renèe couldn't wait for the not date/friend date with Monique. She needed a break from Zion.
