"Kevin's right. She will not be staying at your place any longer if you insist on sabotaging her and me. I shouldn't have to allow her a nap while I work through paperwork, just to make sure she dosen't drop it all on an errand. That wouldn't be her fault, that will be your fault Hunter. If you cause her to make damaging mistakes on my errands" Daryl calmly explained. He placed his hand on my head, I flinched and stared at my hands tearfully.
I hate that it hurts to be treated like some tool. Talked about like I'm nothing. He crouched and looked up at my face, I shivered and held my hands tightly.
"Now despite that. Taylor did as I asked and didn't make anymore mistakes. So I will let everything that did go wrong slide." He stated, I nodded weakly, glad he isn't going to do anything about my behaviour this morning. "Nick will be here tomorrow, and he may even want to use you as an errand girl for himself as well. So you will be staying where you stayed before yesterday's punishment." Explained Daryl. I nodded my understanding.
He clapped my shoulder and stood, I took a deep breath, he began writing on a piece of paper. The silence was tense, I could tell Hunter was staring back at the tv, angry and spiteful.
"Here. Go to that coffee shop. Get this stuff, and yourself a drink. Nothing more. Don't lose my card" he instructed, he handed me a piece of paper with a credit card on top. I took it and nodded.
"Yes sir" I mumbled, my voice shaky and broken, it is embarrassing knowing they can all hear how hard I'm trying not to cry. I stood and hurried out of the building, into the afternoon light, it felt far better being outside. I wiped my eyes and walked to the coffee shop, the man from last time was at the counter.
His harsh expression softened as he made eye contact with me, grabbing a box of tissues from behind the counter.
"Here, girl" he said, I took some tissues and helped myself be more composed. He smiled as he took the tissues back, I smiled in return.
"Thank you" I mumbled, he chuckled, his accent familiar, maybe Russian? I sighed and glanced at the paper, neatly written and simply saying what drink and who it's for. My voice croaky, so I handed him the paper, I then grabbed a bottle of water for myself, he examined me.
"Alright, give me a bit. I'll bring you your drinks when they're done, feel free to drink the water" he said, I nodded, he began typing on the screen and held out a card reader, I tapped it and he vanished somewhere and I could hear things beings turned on. With a sigh, I sat down and drank the water.
I looked out the stained windows, the street getting busy, some other people walked in to order and sat around, waiting, some spending time on their phones, or others talking to someone else.
"Girl" said the man, I got up and walked over, he passed me a tray with 5 drinks. One had a little flower drawn on it with marker.
"Here, hot chocolate on the house, bring you a smile" he said, I did smile, he gave me a beaming one back and vanished once again.
With a bit of a happier step, I left, passing by people, none really payed attention to me. I could probably vanish off into the crowd I suppose. I shook my head and headed to the neutral zone. I could run off and use his credit card but if he caught me stealing from him? I gulped, that will be horrible.
I knocked on the door with my foot, my hands full. The door opened and Toby gave me a smile. Moving out of my way and letting me in, I placed down the cup tray, glad everyone seems distracted, Daryl sat near Hunter and watched tv with him. Kevin was now cleaning some bloodied tools, he nodded to me as I passed him the cup with a K on it.
I gave Toby his one next, then Daryl, I picked up Hunter's, on my way to give him his, I remembered to give Daryl the card back, so quickly passed it to him. Hunter scowled and snatched the drink from me. Daryl seemed interested in whatever was happening on tv. I picked up the hot chocolate and sipped on it, putting it down quickly, way to hot, I need to let it cool down.
