Nick grabbed the remote and switched on the news, relaxing into the seat. The story seemed to be about a car crash. Some lady ran a red light while on her phone. Nick flipped his phone in his hand as I stared at the screen, letting it hide away my embarrassment and bitterness.

"Here" Nick mumbled, he shoved his phone into my hand. I looked to him, confused. I glanced at the phone, it showed some texts.

Asshole Medic

Nick: What's her injuries like?

Kevin: Why are you texting me about it?Just fucking ask

Nick: Answer the question

Kevin: I'm going to tend to the injuries soon. I can send you pictures.

Nick: I have to tell boss man I need to see them in person

Kevin: You know she won't take it well. It's bad enough she's been beaten. Her mental health is unstable as it is right now. Daryl already wants to see the injuries to figure out how to go about helping her. You seeing it as well will be damaging.

Nick: I get it but it's not like I'm going to say anything about her body. I don't intend on making a teen feel violated

Kevin: You could have said it out loud. You just made her feel worse. Could have just trusted my word, and asked if the big boss would need to know or not.

Nick: What did you guys do to her? Most teen girls I've met would put up more of a fight. You all broken her already?

Kevin: Alot of shit has happened. If you want to talk about it, stop fucking texting like a teenager with a phone addiction and we can all discuss this in private.

Nick: I'll show her the texts she might feel better knowing I meant well

Kevin: No you won't.

Nick: Watch me

I looked up at Kevin, he was glaring at the back of Nick's head. Nick chuckled and took his phone back gently.

"Pictures wouldn't have sufficed Kevin they tend to distort things, seeing things with one's own eyes is how I learnt to make sure nothing is half assed. Or not quite what it appears. Your word isn't worthless, I just know you'd protect Daryl" stated Nick, keeping his seat casual while Daryl scowled, tense by the bench. Kevin looked about to say something.

"The criminal known as the 'Trapper' is still at large. The latest victims being an elderly lady walking her dog and two young children. Please be advised to watch your step and keep all kids and pets close. Many stray animals have also been found dead by these traps, a recent find of a stray dog has traumatised a kindergarten during the middle of the day" spoke the news anchor.

"Wait, didn't you two set up the trap?" I asked Daryl, he got over his frustration, giving me a look as if I grew a second head, I pressed deeper into the couch cushion.

"What?! Of course not. We've been tracking the trapper ever since that night. The big boss wants them dead. Messing with his streets and causing trouble" huffed Daryl, his voice hard, he sounds reserved, like Nick's presence is frustrating.
