It's been a month since I joined Task Force 141; everyone is very nice and easygoing to be around, aside from the fact that they always want to spar with me just to show off their skills or strength in some way. I've gotten closer with a guy named Soap and another guy named Gaz, they both were very welcoming towards me and got to know me as a person and not me as a soldier. Ghost, on the other hand, has still been a cold-hearted and rude person every time I try to interact or talk to him so I try my hardest to avoid him.

Soap stood a few feet away from me, breathing heavily while wiping the sweat off his forehead. His mohawk was now messy and his clothes were covered in sweat stains from him moving around so much. He knew he was losing but he did everything in his power to prove to himself and to the crowd of men that were surrounding us that he was stronger than me while we sparred.
Soap sprints toward me at full speed as he tries to attempt to pin me down to the ground, but I quickly move to the side and do a round-house kick right at the back of his head, causing him to fall to the ground face-flat as I get on top on his back and grab both his wrists and pin them behind him. As I have a hold of his wrists, Soap kicks me in the back with one of his free legs which causes me to let go of his wrists while letting out a slight grunt. This gives Soap the opportunity to push me off him and hit the ground as he quickly gets up and places his boot on my abdomen, stopping me from moving or going anywhere. Soap smirks down at me, expecting me to tap out, but I grab his ankle and make him trip and fall to the ground. Once he falls, I get up off the ground myself and kick his side a few times until he eventually turns around and tries moving away from me by crawling a little bit. I quickly place my boot on his back, forcing him to lay face-flat on the ground as I place my knee on his lower back, my other knee on his back thighs so he to not kick, and my hands grabbing his wrists. Soap tries to break free from me pinning him down, but my grip hardens even more and he eventually taps on the mat three times.
I immediately step off and back away from Soap as he gets up off the ground, grunting a bit, while holding onto his side. He gives me the death stare for a few seconds while collecting himself, but I stand my ground as I stare back at him with my cold and intimidating look. He eventually grins and shakes his head as he looks at me.
"You're a damn beast, Venom."
He says with his Scottish accent as he approaches me with a raised hand, expecting me to shake his hand in a respectful manner. As I and Soap were about to shake hands, a deep voice stops him in his tracks from approaching me.
"Why are you shaking her hand when she kicked your ass? You're embarrassing yourself and everyone else on Task Force 141."
Soap and I immediately look over to the owner of the voice as the men that surrounded us move aside, leaving space for us to see who it was that said the negative comment. As the circle of men moved, Ghost stood a bit further away from everyone with his arms crossed as he leaned against the wall. Soap hesitated a bit to even say anything as he then looked away to avoid eye contact with Ghost's gaze while nervously rubbing the back of his neck.
"We were just sparring, Ghost. What's so wrong about that?" Soap says as he glances at Ghost but continues avoiding eye contact with him.
"What's wrong is that you let a woman beat you when you should have fought back and given it your all no matter what. You embarrassed yourself and everyone on this force by losing to a woman who's only been here for a month. That includes everyone who observed these two sparring as well. All of you, get out."
Ghost says with a stern look as he watches all the men that observed walk away in shame. Soap looks at me one last time before letting out a deep sigh and walking away. I shake my own head in a bit of annoyance as I'm about to leave the training room until I hear Ghost's voice which leads me to stop in my tracks.
"Except for you." He says as he approaches me.
I turn around and look at him, glaring at him as my eyes lower just a little bit.
He says nothing to me for a good few seconds as he stands right in front of me, his arms crossed over his chest and his eyes are staring me down, almost piercing through my soul.
"What's your deal, huh?" Ghost says a bit annoyingly.
"What do you mean? All I did was spar with Soap, am I not allowed to do anything without your permission, Lieutenant?" I say with a slight smirk from underneath my mask.
"Don't play dumb with me. You're only sparring with the other soldiers just to show off your skills and, honestly, it's getting on my nerves."
I stare at him, my anger getting to me, as I clench my fists. Who the hell does he think he is? He doesn't even know half of the shit I went through back in KorTac! I continue staring at him, my anger clearly visible on my face, as I finally speak with a bit of irritation in my tone of voice.
"So them offering to spar with me is making you mad? That sounds kinda childish, don't you think?"
"Oh, shut up. Just stop trying to beat my men and show off how good of a soldier you think you are. You're not that good a soldier, you're as pathetic as the other soldiers that surrounded you sparring with Soap." Ghost says as he leans down to my level and stares at me with his cold gaze.
Seeing him inch a bit closer to me made me want to punch him so badly with his stupid skull mask. As soon as he says that, my left hand raises into a fist as I'm about to punch him in the nose. He quickly grabs hold of my hand and pulls me closer to him, his eyes turn into anger as if he's about to scream in my face. He grabs my jaw, forcing me to look at him, as his face gets closer to mine.
"You trying to hit me is only proving my point." He scoffs as he releases me, letting me fall to the ground from his grip.
Ghost walks over to the door and before he leaves, he looks at me over his shoulder with his cold gaze once more.
"If you want physical attention from a man so bad, I can help you. Other than that, stop being such a show-off."
Ghost opened the door and left, leaving me alone sitting on the mat in the training room. My anger was shown in my face and in my body language; I can feel myself getting angrier by the minute.
How could I let him talk to me like that? Why would he tell me that sort of thing? He doesn't know me personally. I despised him. I don't want to be around him. Just being around him pisses me off.
"I hate him," I mumble.
