The Hour

When most would hope for light to come at dawn,
I long for darkness to cover the sun;
And when the moon is up and people yawn,
There comes my hour of delight and fun.

When most would lie in bed and end their day,
My day would start, with stars lighted on earth.
The dark of night affects me in no way,
When eyes of mine are lighted by my heart.

Most count the nights to end for days to shine,
I count the days to pass for nights to rise.
When in slumber deep, lies my weary mind,
My eyes do see what's hidden by day's light.

For darkness brings a realm where you relive,
All days and nights away, for it I give.
