SHE HAD A LONG list of ex-lovers.

Though Ah-ri would hardly call them lovers.

She had never really liked any of them in the first place, and hadn't stuck around long enough for any feelings to transpire. In fact, she'd yet to date a boy who actually had more than two working brain cells.

She didn't like high school boys. The large majority of them were immature, irresponsible and obnoxious, and the mere thought of ending up with any of them made her feel nauseous.

And the odd few that did strike her fancy, well she only had to initiate a conversation that required some sort of intelligence, for example one regarding politics, or the news ... and they were absolutely clueless.

It was a cycle.

It started with either a phone call or a text message from her father. The phone call when he was in a good mood, and her father would skip the pleasantries and merely greet her by asking if she needed anything. She would say no, yet he'd fill up her bank account anyway. And if he was in a bad mood— the text was short and simple.

It was the same demand every-time. A boy with rich parents who were on the brink of investing in her father's business. She had to be seen with him. Have the media fawn over them. Paint the prettiest of saccharine smiles all over the internet, hold his hand and kiss his cheek. Have their picture taken. Have the whole world know about it.

Moon Ah-ri was a notorious heartbreaker.

And she was hated for it.

The school bell had rung a good five minutes ago and she was very late for class, rummaging through her locker for her chemistry textbook. When she finally found it, beneath the massive pile of spare clothes, make-up, journals and god knows what else— she really needed to clean her locker— she shut the door, locked it and moved to walk away to the end of the corridor.

But she stiffened when a cold hand clamped onto her shoulder, stopping her.

"You made a big mistake."

If there was one thing the male species couldn't handle, it was a bruised ego.

"Walking this way to class?" she muttered. "I wholeheartedly agree."
