24. She said it!

Sam had fallen asleep in Maxs arms after she'd commented every scene of the childrens show for him.

I had not been able to whipe the smile off my face for even a second because seeing Max be so great with Sam really got to me.

She was so patient and sweet with him and even tho he'd cried two times because he was tired a grumpy, she'd never lost her patience.

I placed the baby bottle, Sam used instead of a pacifier on the couch table, fixing tbe blanket that was covering my baby.

In the corner of my eye I spotted Maxs gaze on me and when I turned my head to look at her she smiled contently.

"Casey"

She said quietly, not to wake up Sam and I turned the volume on the TV down so it was more like background noise for Sam to feel safe.

"Max"

I responded as I sat up a bit so I could face her more comfortably.

"Do you remember when you asked me what I wished for in the future..?"

She asked as she watched me intensly and I tilted my head to the side slightly to think about it when I suddenly remembered.

"Yes of course I do- you wanted to someday have a family!
But as an idol it is complicated..
That really opened my eyes.
I kinda always thought life as an idol was .. well easy because you had lots of money and people that did things for you.."

Max smiled as she nodded.

"I tended to think so too before getting into the industry..
But don't get me wrong I wouldn't trade it!
I really like beeing an idol."

I smiled hearing that.
It would've been sad for Max to continue working as something she didn't feel happy as.

"I'm glad"

I finally responded, snuggeling into the others warm body as I closed my eyes for a second.

I was really tired but I opened them again, wanting to keep the conversation up.

"Did you always want to become a makeup artist?"

Max asked in a whispertone and I smiled at the question, shaking my head against her as I responded.

"Nope"

I whsipered back and i just knew Max was raising her brows in surprise now.

"I actually dreamed of studying biology"

I revealed and Max seemed to think about it.

"I can picture you as a biologist"

She responded then and it made me smile like an idiot for some reason.

"Well- I did get accepted into a pretty high standard university that specialises in the subject but- well you know everything with my mom and the sudden change in life made me need way more money and I couldn't keep studying- I needed a job."

"I'm sorry about that"

Max, whos head was now leaned against my own, whispered and I nodded softly.

"I was really sad about it back then but now- I would give up everything for my baby"

I instinctively reached for the tiny boy, hugging my arm around him along with Maxs that was already there.

I felt Max peck my head gently in response and giggled as I simply enjoyed the moment.

We continued our conversation, having to hold back our loud laughter at times.

Talking with Max was the best thing in the world.
