"You know we don't have to go. There's going to be a lot of people since it's the weekend" Bellamy had one hand on the wheel.

We sat in one of my father's cars, in the parking lot of the fair. I remained silent, fidgeting with my fingers. I wanted to avoid large crowds.

Anyone could be watching me. He could be watching.

The paranoia of Cain blending into the crowd is a recurring worry.

I didn't feel safe anywhere. Not even in my own home.

How could— the photos he sent. The hidden camera— when did he get into my room?

I covered my mouth as I immediately felt sick. The thought terrified me.

Has he ever been in my room while I am sleeping?!

"Adrian, are you okay? We can go somewhere else" Bellamy put his hand on my shoulder.

I looked at Bellamy, moving my hand from my lips. I forced a smile "I'll be fine. I have you beside me". "That's right, and I don't plan on leaving your side for even a second" He reassured me.

I felt safe with Bellamy. Everything will be fine, yeah it'll all be fine.

"C'mon let's go in, Lola must be waiting" Bellamy began to get out. I took a deep breath before exiting the car.

Everything will be fine. It's okay.

I had to repeat those words over and over again to believe it. I'm here to have fun and escape my demon.

It'll be okay. It will be fun.

I gently scratched my arm trying to soothe my anxious mind. Bellamy grabbed my hand, stopping me.

His hand was warm. It was a comforting feeling.

"Hey!" Lola shouted from afar. We began looking around, only spotting her seconds after. She was waving her hand around.

Beside her was the guy she supposedly liked, Liam, and her cousin Jalen. I gave a small frown once I locked eyes with Jalen.

He had a feminine look, he was naturally pretty. He was tan with dark brown hair that came to his shoulders. His lashes were long and his limps were plump.

I glanced at Bellamy to see his reaction. What if he found Jalen attractive? What then?

I gripped Bellamy's hand once I felt his grip loosen. Bellamy raised a brow at me before smiling "Ah I've seen you at that one college party, right?" he directed his attention to Liam.

Liam gave a small chuckle "Yeah. I'm Liam" he officially introduced himself.

"Bellamy. And you?" Bellamy's gaze went to Jalen. "Jalen. He's my cousin" Lola answered for him.

"Cool, nice to meet you" Bellamy put his other hand out for Jalen to shake.

Jalen stared at it. He then turns his gaze to me. I couldn't help but glare. I was jealous of his natural beauty and bitter.

"Okay, what should we do first?" Bellamy put his hand down.

"I say we try the boat first!" Lola smiled. "Yeah, what do you say Jalen?" Liam asked. "I'm fine with whatever" Jalen continued to stare at me.

Why was he staring at me?

I gave a small frown "Sounds like a good idea" I began pulling Bellamy as I walked. I didn't like Jalen and I'm sure he didn't like me either.

"Do we have to? Doesn't that thing go all the way around" Bellamy was hesitant.

A small smirk crept onto my face "Don't tell me you're afraid of heights" I couldn't help but laugh as his face showed worry.
