The chapter opens with Ray lying unconscious in an unfamiliar room. His breaths were shallow, his body restrained by thick bandages and faintly glowing wires monitoring his condition.

Johnathan stood tall, his arms crossed, his face darkened with concern. Across from him, a shadowed figure lounged lazily in a chair, their presence somehow both relaxed and unnerving. The two spoke in low tones, though their words carried the weight of a storm.

Johnathan: "He's just a child. My child. And you're telling me that...thing inside him grows stronger the longer he suffers?"

The shadowed man nodded, his voice calm but devoid of sympathy.

The man leaned forward, his shadow stretching unnaturally across the floor as he placed a small black case on the table. He opened it with a sharp click, revealing an unsettling assortment of vials, syringes, and capsules.

Unnamed Man: "There's another option. But you're not going to like it."

Unnamed Man: "First, we have this.."

He held up a bottle of strange pills.

Unnamed Man: "An adrenaline-based stimulant

Unnamed Man: "An adrenaline-based stimulant. If his body weakens too much, this will keep him functioning......Barely."

Next, he pulled out a small canister of green gas.

Unnamed Man: "Pain is necessary to keep the possessor at bay, but there are limits

Unnamed Man: "Pain is necessary to keep the possessor at bay, but there are limits. This gas can numb the worst of it. Keep him sane, if nothing else."

Johnathan remained silent, his jaw tight, as the man continued.
