A/N: Thankyou for the abundance of reads I have gotten over the last couple of days. I want you all to comment who you are.. because.. well, I'm depressed. Not really. Vote aswell it means a lot.

FLY McPHERSON POV:

We wait.

Until it is over.

My cat, my mother, my brother and I a cramped into an underground storage container hidden away from view of the interior of the house. If you were inside the house, where I was an hour ago, you wouldn't see the passage unless you were searching for it. The false wall to the side of my wardrobe contains a confined passage to where we are hidden.

Peacekeepers haven't check the house's for years to see if anyone is contained inside of them. It would be very out of the ordinary if they just all of a sudden started doing it again. It would just be back luck I guess. Not that my family and I have enough.

My father, was quashed by a falling tree in the woods behind our house. It was just suspected that he ran away, because with one was with him at the time. We knew it wasn't the case. He loved us. Adored us. As did we in return. We knew something was up it wasn't until our neighbours found his lifeless body underneath a great big oak

Then months after that I lost my six year old sister to Leukaemia. It was a horrific time and my mother went into great depression. She was over dosing and self harming. It's been a year now and she has gotten over it. But it would take one small mishap and it'd be happening again. She just doesn't want to lose another one of us

We wait and hear nothing. Nothing, but the sound of our strong and frightened breathes.

We estimated that the reaping would at least go for an hour at the most, so once we had been in there for long enough, we evacuated the area and went into the main part of the building. I turn the kettle on to make us all a cup of tea. I poor some cat food for our fat kitty to eat and it's gone quicker then I pored in it. I look out the window and don't see anyone. Reaping must have finished a while ago.

My mother strolls right past me and through the front door with her head face down at the floor. I tip the tea leaves into the warm drinks slowly and respectfully but this trance is broken when I hear the piercing scream of a woman.

I run out side only to see my mother being taken away from our house but a group on enrage Peacekeepers.

"LET HER GO!" I scream and cuss at them. At this point my brother has come.

We continue cursing at them and beating them in the stomachs. They grabs hold my brother and kick me off.

"WHY ARE YOU DOING THIS!" I scream confused as to why my family is being taken against there will.

"Well, the reaping's have begun and, well, I don't believe your present are you?" He says sarcastically and menacingly.

"So it looks like we're going to have to kill you all!"

"YOU HAVE TO DO SOMETHING" I hear my brother shout. I turn my dumbfounded face towards him and see him stomp on a Peacekeepers foot and kick the other in the shin.

"STOP!" I shout in all the commotion.

"Take me instead. You can't kill them. So take me, into the Hunger Games." I say dreading my future

When I arrive at the reaping, in the custody of the men in white suits, everyone turns to look at me. The girl has just been chosen and I have come just in time. Not that I am happy with the timing of my arrival, but at least my family is safe, and they will live on.

"Madam!" cries the moron gripping my left arm. "I believe we have a male volunteer!"

There is no point in me screaming, shouting, kicking or anything. I just let them drag me.

Drag me away to my death
