Xander Connley POV (District Ten)

To be perfectly honest, I have no idea how I can survive now. Nor have any idea how I am still alive. I mean my only team member, Mandle, passed on. I know it seemed like I didn't like her that much, now that she... gone, I kind of miss her.

She always entertained me. We'd have a good debate on silly thing. I now, I really do miss her.

I begin to choke up. I stop trekking up this hill I have been walking up for what feels like years, and sit down against a tree. There is no buildings anywhere up around this mountain. Maybe it was a nature park, or free land. I can't think

My mind has gone fuzzy, and I feel so angry, frustrated and all other emotions at once. I rub my head, hard, to release the stress but if anything it just makes me more angry. A build up of tension is bottled up, I get up and start throwing rocks down the hill.

"Is this what you wanted! You bastards!" I yell out. I am not exactly sure what I am trying to prove.

I am so mad, tears begin to stream down my face unintentionally. I begin punching the air until my fist begins to hit trees. The bark flies off as my knuckles attack the trunks. My knuckles blistering and bleeding.

"You idiots!" I shout. I scream. I notice about five shimmers in the sky. Invisible cameras are facing me, filming me.

"Wow! That's low. You must be having a really shitty Hunger Games if you need to film someone having a mental breakdown, you illiterate, unnecessary morons!" I scream.

They must be mad, but I don't care. So am I. Their cowards!

Almost on cue, I hear a crash and breaking of trees from on top of the mountain. I go to hide behind one of the trees and look up at the mountain, just in case it isn't the Careers. But the noise is far to loud to be people. What ever it is, it's moving fast and dangerously agile.

I walk up the hill a little to see what is happening. I grab on to a tree for support up the steep mountain.

BANG

An enormous black wall of water is coming at me. A tsunami, original.

It is racing fast and deadly. I can't outrun this thing, but I begin sprinting down the mountain. The wave is to fast, I will never make it out alive. I look back behind my shoulder quickly, still moving my legs as fast as I can.

The tidal wave is almost making a roar sound, approach with no caution what so ever.

I feel sprays of water. I am about one metre distance from the wave.

I give up. I can't do it anymore.

I stop and stand for almost a second. Basically as soon as I stop the wave hits me and takes me on its treacherous journey.

Slamming my body against tree upon tree, I could almost promise I heard a crack from my ribs or back. But something has broken and a trail of blood follows my somersaulting body.

I attempt to grab hold of a tree but my hands slip and my head slams onto a rock. I scream, but it is muffled by water making me choke, taking in water. I start coughing under water with only allows another path for water to seep into my throat. I can't breathe.

There is literally a hole in my head and blood pores out staining the water. My body smashes another tree, and that is the end. One last underwater scream and that is it.

Cameron White POV (District Four)

A cannon blares which raises my curiosity more as too what that cracking, dangerous sound is coming from up on top of the mountain.

As soon as the first cannon blared I made my way over the wall and have been looking for the cornucopia ever since. Haven't slept yet. Sleep can wait. Maybe tonight I will find a safe place ti bunker.

A loud roar is sounding. So I finally step out of the building which once was a bakery and find a strip of trees being flattened by an enormous, deadly wave heading in my direction.

"Shit!" I mutter.

I sprint down the small road and down a side street trying to move out of the path of this wave.

I maybe is still quite a while away but it is moving faster then I am. I make my way onto a main street. I look back to see where the wave is it.

The blue wall is at the other end of the street.

"Oh, shit! C'mon!" I call to no one in particular.

I sprint down the unsteady, cracked street. I am becoming dizzy, my nausea and tiredness is getting to me and I get caught up in all my thinking that I fall to the ground, face planting.

I cry in pain. There is an enormous graze down my leg which is oozing a little big of blood. My hands feel like they have been scrapped on my a cheese grater after falling on the asphalt ground.

I attempt to get up but my leg is really sore.

I must pull through.

I stand up and try to run, with a little limp. The water is about twenty or so metres away. I run faster then I have ever run before, or, so it feels.

The water is spraying onto the back of my neck. I notice a lot of trees ahead. This is the best and worst place to be hit. If I am lucky, I can grab onto a tree and let the water go past but if I miss the tree I will be forced to be slammed against the trees and probably die.

I run towards the biggest tree I can see and that's when the water hits.

I take in the biggest breathe and the water takes me under. My body goes tumbling and tossing through the thick water, it is impossible to tell where I am going, even if my eyes are open, I am still blinded by the dullness of the water. My body smashes against a tree. Just as I knew, I am going to die. Death my tsunami, interesting.

What feels like an hour of being under water, when it was only really a minute or two, my head emerges out of the water. I am gasping for air and flopping around like an animal that can't swim, when in fact I am quite a skilled swimmer. I grew up swimming in District Four, as we are the fishing District.

I am heading straight to a tree, I have one chance to grab onto the trunk or I keep floatin along and probably die. Just as I am about to grab the tree, a smaller wave, pushes me under, my nails scrape on the trunk, but I slide off missing the tree.

My head pushes up out of the water again and I slam front on into another tree. Luckily, through the pain, I manage to hold on.

The water is trying to pull me off the trunk, but I wrap my arms and legs around it like a Koala Bear.

"Help! Help me!" An aggressive voice calls flying down the water. My head snaps in their direction. It can't be?

"I'm trying hold on!" Another softer male voice calls also floating down. It's Oliver from Nine.

But why was the first person, he was floating with, Jessie.

"Jessie!" I shout!

Oliver brags onto a tree. Jessie still floats

"Jessie!" I call again. She swivvels her head at me.

"What the fuck?" She calls, barging into a tree. She was distracted by me that she almost knocked out.

"Hold on to that!" Oliver calls from a tree about ten metres away from me. He looks at me again, puzzled?

"Cameron?!" He calls.

"Yea, let her go. It's best she dies now!" I shout back, holding tight waiting for the water to subside.

"Are you crazy. I gotta save her. She's all I have!" He calls back, letting go.

"Oh my god you idiot!" I let them drift and close my eyes tighter then I am holding on.

A couple of minutes pass and the water starts to die down, not as dangerous as before.

No cannons have gone off so I assume Oliver and Jessie have survived. In a way I was hoping that'd be the way she goes because she would be a very big threat.

The water is about ankle height now, so I jump of the tree and stumble on my sore leg, falling to the ground. I am saturated. I get up, splashing the icky, murky water off me.

It is fresh water, but it's so full of mud and dirt that it is barely drinkable. I get up.

"Jessie! You can come down now! I hear a voice call, almost like, Oliver's.

I have many things I could do now.

Attack, I could easily take on Oliver, piece of cake, but Jessie, that'd be a fair fight that I am up for.

Or I could Ally. Last time I remember seeing Oliver, he was with Isobel from his district. I wonder where she is? Maybe she was the one who had the cannon?

I crouch behind the damp, jungle tree that intertwines between what was a local supermarket.

Oliver is looking up a tree in the middle of the abandoned car park. Several jungle features have grown through the cracked concrete and it looks beautiful, although slightly off-putting, because of the stench of bad odour and smashed cars, windows and walls.

Oliver is trying to get Jessie out of the tree, pleading it is safe. This makes me laugh because of the fact that Jessie perceives herself brutish and strong, when she is a scared little girl beneath all that grit.

I have a way to get her down.

"Hey Jessie!" I call stepping out from the shadows.

"You survived!" Oliver impresses.

"You sound surprised? Seeing as you are the one that let go of the tree"

He is speechless. I mentally snap my fingers in a 'Z' formation.

"Hey Baby! How are you going sweetie. Did you miss me?" I say charmingly to Jessie, she absolutely hates it when I flirt to her.

"Who the hell, invited you. Leave before I come down and kill you!"

"Come on, babycakes... Come and kill me!"

"I will, I literally will smash you"

"Hey honey, come on, wanna see you shake that and kill me!"

"Thats it!!" She snaps. Jumping down from the tree into the puddle of water. She has a stick, sharpened like a spear in hand and throws it at me. I freak out, I didn't think she'd actually kill me. The stick stabs my shoulder, I am not dead but it hurts. I take it out spurting quite a bit of blood. A deep cut I dear say.

I grab the stick and hold it at her.

"That wasn't nice baby!" I say keeping up my act.

"Gimme the stick, or you will die!" She threatens.

"No you see, I give you the stick, I still die. I don't want to do that. Come near me, you die. How does that sound, to have the threats reversed".

She gives me the evilest grin, the most evil I have ever seen emerge from someone's eyes. Almost to say "My next move is to kill you", and I bet that is exactly what she is thinking. No doubt in my mind

"Here Jessie, come on". cries that annoying Oliver kid

Jesse does in fact move to Oliver, but still still gives me the evil, evil grin.

"It's probably best that you leave" Oliver suggest to me

"Yeah that's not a bad idea!" I go to leave "oh yeah and he's your stick, bye bye Jessie baby!"

I chuck the stick on the ground in an immediate reaction from Oliver follows, he picks the stick up from the ground and chucks it to Jessie

"Jessie quick!" He cries

I turned around to see what all the chaos in ruckus is but before I can everything goes black, as I see the stick release from Jessie's hands, chucked like a spear piercing into my heart.

The drenched mess of myself falls to the ground, knees first following by the rest of my body, my head slams against the hard concrete ground never to see the light again.

Trixie Tane POV (District Three)

Declan has literally carried me to this beautiful, old, abandoned park.

We saw the thrashing of an enormous wave so headed away from it unharmed. Although two cannons blared off in that hour it passed. No doubt they were killed by the tsunami.

Declan places me down, on his lap, of an old, rusty park bench. Quite a romantic position, but, I have to remember, Declan doesn't like me in that way.

Declan and I have been near each other for the whole two days now, but we have barely said a thing. There has been one question dwelling on my mind for what feels like years now.

"Declan?" I mutter through cracked lips and dry skin.

"Yes" He sounds so hunky when he's tired.

"Why are you trying so hard to keep me alive. I mean you could have just left me to be killed in the bloodbath, instead I am not a major inconvenience" I look deeply into his eyes. Mine begin to well up, I try all I can to blink them away, but that only forces more to build up and begin to slide down my soft, dry skin.

"Well..." he mutters, if I am looking correctly, a build up of moisture rises in his eyes.

"Well?" I question. I don't care, I feel my lungs collapsing. I let the tears drip. I am still seriously wounded from my beating from the boy from Two, Valen. I am so thirsty, my tounge feels like its shrivelling into a sultana. I noticed a suspicious lump in the vein in my arm before, since then I haven't been able to feel my hand, now my arm is feeling the same. Slowly but surely, I am dying

"Well, I couldn't leave you there. Even though I don't have feelings for you, I still care about you!" He replies softer then falling flakes.

"That's all I've ever wanted to hear" I reply, so hushed, I am surprised he can hear me. A cool gush of wind blows over the scene, sending the flowers and grass flying around us. The chair releases a loud creak, but put all the chaos away, this is the most perfect moment. Declan has rested his head on my stomach as I struggle to get my last breathes in and out.

"Declan.." I manage to mutter, staring deep into his eyes still.

His head snaps at me. He places a soft, gentle kiss on my cheek, and smiles.

I smile back, trying to take my mind off the pain.

"Thankyou" I whisper. As I exhale for the last time, I grab Declan hand, in my own and place it on my heart.

I finally release contact with him and look at the bright blue sky, for the very last time.
