Ruhana had gone to the market to purchase some groceries. Aarav banged on Vineet's door room and shouted "darawaza khol..."
Vineet opened the door and shot a deadly glare at him "maine kitni baar kaha hai tumse jab main apni padhai kar raha hun mujhe disturb mat kiya karo"
Aarav made an innocent face "bhai mere tu padhai karta hai toh tujhe bahut khushi milti hai na?" he asked
"haa.." He agreed
"issi tarah mujhe khushi milti hai jab main ladki ke saath date pe jaata hun.. lekin jabse Ruu aayi hai ek bhi date pe nahi gaya hun main aur mujhse ye tadap bardasht nahi ho rahi hai ab" Aarav shared his pain with him.
Vineet crossed his arms across "Come to the point.."
"Aaj Ruu ko dinner pe le jaa.. taaki main date pe jaa sakun" Aarav said in a pleading tone.
Vineet's eyes became wide hearing him "main? tumhari behen ko dinner pe leke jau?" he asked shockingly
Aarav shook his head positively. "tu mujhe yahan se neeche khudke ke liye kahega na toh main khud jaunga lekin use dinner pe nahi leke jaunga jab dekho hukum chalati rehti hai mujhpe" Vineet refused to take Ruhana for the dinner.
"mujhpe bhi toh chalati hai na main kuch kehta hun?" Aarav asked taking his sister's side
"tum mein himmat kaha hai uske aage kuch bhi kehne ki" Vineet said teasingly.
Aarav glared at him "tumhe madad nahi karni hai toh mat karo.. main jaa raha hun date par sambhal lena use aaj" he declared
"Aaru.. main nahi sambhalne waala hun" Vineet warned him.
Aarav pulled him in a bone-breaking hug "mera jigri dost sambhal lega.." he run out of the house before Vineet could speak something.
Vineet sighed in disappointment "ye bhai behen milke na mujhe tang karte rehte hai bas.." he murmured.
He moved back to the room and continued with his studies. After a few hours he had finished all his work and stretched his arms in the air "thank god Aaru chala gaya warna ghar mei rehta hai toh main concentrate kar hi nahi paata.. ab thoda relax kar sakta hun"
He got up from the chair and moved out of the room. He came to the hall and found a notebook on the coffee table. There was a note on it "apna kaam toh kar liya tumne! ab mera bhi assignment kardo please.. warna meri chutti ho jayegi college se"
Vineet sighed in disappointment "kuch zyada hi fayda utha raha hai meri achai ka.." he turned and went to the kitchen. He stood in front of the fridge and like always there was another note.
"karde na mere topper.. mere jigar ke tukde.. mere laute jigri" with a sad emoji. A smile appears on his face reading the note. He took out the water bottle from the fridge and found another note.
"has diya tumne.. ab mera assignment bhi karde itna bhi kya bhaav kha raha hai.. paav chuwayega?"
Vineet laughed reading it, he drank the water and then moved to the couch. He took the notebook and completed his assignment.
The doorbell rings, Vineet opened the door and found Ruhana standing with the grocery bags in her hands. She stared at him and he stepped aside to let her in.
"Gattu.. Gattu" she called out Aarav placed the bags on the dining table.
Vineet replied "tumhara gattu ghar pe nahi hai"
Ruhana turned to him and asked "kaha gaya hai?"
"ek dost ki tabiyat kharab ho gayi thi use dekhne gaya hai" Vineet made the excuse.
