chaotic escape

The room erupted into chaos as the manor's prisoners came up from the cellar. Draco had instinctively pulled me behind him when spells were being fired across the room.

I had 'dropped' the wands in my hands in fake panic when one of the boys was close enough to get them. Ron eyed me carefully as he snatched the wands on the floor. Throwing one to Hermoine and then Harry.

Bellatrix screamed in anger as Dobby snatched her wand, "My wand!" She moved to grab her knife as the group huddled together.

I grabbed my own in worry that she might hit someone in the large group. My knife I knew hit its mark after they disappeared in a snap of Winky and Dobby's fingers. I prayed everyone was alive as Bellatrix turned her gaze to me, smiling wickedly telling me she didn't see my intent.

"Brilliant throw, Flossy," she hugged me.

I drummed my fingers on my desk, looking out my window. Waiting for a reply hopefully from Hermoine.

It was getting close to midnight, and my worry only grew.

Sighing in defeat, I got up and was about to go back to bed when Vega landed on my window sill. A smile graced my lips as I untied the letter and the familiar iridescent knife from the owl.

Cani,

Sorry for the late reply. We've been on the move recently and haven't had much time to write.

Your plan worked brilliantly at Gringots. Although we had to improvise a little when we got in. I hope to fill you in when this is all over, it's too long of a story to write. We got what we came for, a Hufflepuffs goblet, and will be destroying it as soon as possible.

We've also come to the realization that this will all end at Hogwarts but we can't figure out how to get in without letting any of your father's followers know. Any ideas?

Your friend,

Otter

P.S. Here's your knife back. No one got seriously injured.

I sat back down in the chair, pulled out a piece of paper, and began writing.

Otter,

Good to hear from you and that everyone is alright.

As for sneaking into Hogwarts all but one tunnel were sealed it leads into the room of requirement. Which is currently used to house Gryffindors.

To find this tunnel you must find Dumbledore's brother, Aberforth, who lives in Hogsmead. He's a grumpy old man but if you tell him I sent you he should lead you to the entrance of the tunnel. Aberforth's been helping the Gryffindors since Death Eaters took over. I'll also contact a friend that we both know well and he'll guide you through the tunnel. Be careful when you make your way back, there are snitches everywhere.

Also so you are not surprised my godfather, Severus Snape is the headmaster.

Your friend,

Cani

I folded the paper neatly sealing it before handing it to Vega. Who took off immediately into the night.

My eye wandered to the empty bed. Draco was out doing some errands for my father.

Getting from my chair I slipped into my covers while Medusa hung from the perch above making sure I was safe from any dangers.

The next morning I was up and walking around the castle. Checking each hallway I entered the room of requirement. I was carrying food from the kitchens to help limit how much the Gryffindors get picked on.

My eyes wandered up into the high rafters seeing students hanging out of hammocks and talking.

"Flor!" A young Gryffindor yelled as she came barreling towards me attacking my waist.

"Hey there, Eva" I chuckled as I looked down at the girl.

"Florence, thank you," Neville said as he took the large basket from my hands and began passing around fruits and pastries.

"It's not much," I say honestly

"Everything counts" Neville smiled kindly. "Dropping off breakfast wasn't the only reason you came was it?"

"I heard from Hermoine last night" At the sound of the name everyone quieted down to hear the news. "They're coming back soon to finish it. I directed them to find Aberforth, for the tunnel here"

"I can lead them through since Harry and Ron still think your a no-good Slytherin" Neville teased

I rolled my eyes "I should get going before someone realizes the daughter of their lord is missing"

I drummed my fingers again against the back of my book in the common room as I read my potions book while Pansy worked on an essay for one of her classes. It was a peaceful silence other than the light tapping of my fingers on the book's hardcover and the occasional scratching on paper as Pansy wrote.

"I'm back" I smiled without thinking about it. Lowering my book I looked at Draco as he approached us "Where's the troublemakers?"

"Detention with McGonagall, Theo did something stupid and dragged in Blaise and Daphne" Pansy answered without looking up "Florry? Benzoar"

"Stone, goat" I answer simply still grinning at the arrival of Draco.

"Darling" Draco whispered as he leaned down to kiss me lightly.

"ugh you guys are too cute," Pansy said leaning back into the foot of the couch I was sitting on.

We both chuckled "How was it?" I asked and Draco's features darkened

"Dark" he whispered as if he was reliving what he had to do. I kissed him to snap out of it which worked like a charm. "Thanks"

"Any time" I force a small smile

"Mom wants us both for dinner" he replied tiredly

"ok," I swing my legs off the couch careful not to hit Pansy in the head "Pansy?"

"Don't worry, I'll keep the order and look out for your three griffins"

"Thank you" feeling relieved that we had brought her and the rest of the royals into our plans.
