Then there were two

It didn't take me long as I followed the directions from Hermoine when she told me previously where the chamber was. Thinking it might be helpful in the future. I slid to a stop in front of the sink my chest rising and falling fast as I sprinted across the castle somehow avoiding any professors. Medusa loosened her grip on my arm. 

You got to stop doing that Medusa hissed

"Who are you?" my eyes flicked up to the mirror to spot a girl floating; moaning Myrtle. 

Paying her no mind I looked at the sink finding the small snake on the faucet "Open" and to my amazement that part of the vanity moved backward revealing a large hole going into the castle. Removing my cloak I draped it on the sink nearest to me. "Hold on" I warned Medusa before jumping.

you're going to be the death of me Medusa said sarcastically as she loosened her hold again when I was steady on my feet. 

I took a step and was met with crunching bones below my feet "I see what you mean about the snacks" I commented as I trekked forward

After a short walk and some more parseltongue, I made it to the end. The final chamber. My eyes traced over Salazar Slytherin's face before falling on the massive skeleton of the basilisk. I shuddered glad I never saw it in its full glory.  

Getting to my knees I pulled out the diadem setting it out in front of me. I grabbed the broken tooth and hoped that this worked. Grasping the tooth with both hands I raised it above my head my back arching slightly and with a deep breath I swung down hard at the Ravenclaw artifact. 

When the tooth hit its mark the diadem shattered and with it a distant rumble that sounded like it was getting closer by the second. I didn't have time to think I just hunched into a ball on the ground holding Medusa close to my chest as water crashed into me from both sides. I held my breath and before I knew it I could breathe again. 

Tears rushed down my face as I laughed collapsing on my back soaking wet. 

You are definitely gonna get me killed Medisa mumbled only making me laugh harder.

I looked up at the hole I fell through "I definitely should have brought my broom" 

Follow me Medusa said as she gracefully dropped from my arm We aren't going to run, fly, or get drenched she says sourly as she slithers down the pipes.

I smile amusedly at my snake as I use my wand for light as she brings me down dark tunnels.

Finally, above the surface, I collected my robe and closed the chamber of secrets before making my way back to the dorm. 

Draco was right where I left him and he looked up puzzled as he saw my damp appearance.

"Do I want to know?" 

"Probably not" I shrug "But the thing is destroyed"

"Well, there's that" he got up from his seat. Approaching me he lifted my chin up and kissed me gently "Take a shower, Mother wants us both at the manor for something"

I nodded. It wasn't odd now to be called back to the Manor during the school days seeing as our parents practically ran the school. Pulling a nice dress out I made my way to the bathroom. 

"Where's Medusa?" Draco asked

"Taking some time to herself she doesn't like being jostled around much" I answer from behind the cracked bathroom door as I turned on the water.
