43. Delivery (2)

In the delivery room now. Taehyung is unbelievably in pain. Hyperventilating. Jeongguk is sitting beside him, holding his hand with one and with another caressing the hair out of Taehyung's forehead. Taehyung is so much sweating,with every scream he leaves there are apparently new drops of sweats appearing. "It'll be over soon, tae, honey, we have done this before, you are really brave for doing this." Taehyung shook his head, as if he is disagreeing with Jeongguk's words, "no, I'm not brave". But Taehyung literally couldn't say much, his teeth clattering pain did not allow him. He rather bit on his lower lip, that drew out blood. Jeongguk gently removed the lip from more abuse, and wiped away the little blood.

 
 
The doctors are ready now, one constantly monitoring the progress and other waiting for the green signal for asking Taehyung to push. The babies are in good position, they said. They had a brief talk about the baby's position and nondisclosed gender.
 
 
 
Doctor: Mr Jeon, should I reveal the gender now or remain using codeword?

Jeongguk: honey, what do you want? Can you tell?

Taehyung: aaaaaa I'm dying here today mmmm. Aaaaah surprise

Doctor: so, expect one baby to be a little lighter than the other. That's baby no 2, and here, baby 1. Baby 1 is nearer, so it'll come out first. Baby 2 have a slightly difficult position, but there's good chances of it adjusting after the sibling comes out.

Jeongguk: I understand. There shouldn't be any lacking in preparation, keep everything handy for any situation. I said money isn't anything to me, again saying the same thing. My wife and children, must be healthy.

Doctor: that's sure,sure. We have kept prepared for c-section as well, blood bank is ready too if needed. Don't worry, Mr. Jeon.

Jeongguk: I hope. Take care of my family.
 
 
 
The doctors knew Jeongguk isn't playing with words, he mean everything he said, even the full stop. So the nurses were working their best, massaging Taehyung's feet to relieve some of the pain. They had to reattach the cannula and drip, as Hyunie ripped them off of his mommy. Now, the cervix should open up a little more until they start.
 
 
 
Taehyung couldn't help being loud. "Jeongguk, I'll die." He was saying. For Taehyung he hasn't felt like this during Hyun-woo, he already forgot about the pain limit during Tae-ri's time. Today it's feeling so crucially painful, as if someone is rearranging his open sliced belly with knife. The pain in lower, the pressure he's feeling - like his lower will tear and everything will come out just like this. He feels like his bones are swelling, breaking, poking his inside. Taehyung is this near to ask for pain reducer. But a mother is what it is. Even in this life death, the thought about his other two children that are waiting - made him want to do this sooner. Pain reducer will increase the time duration of labor, who'll attend to his Tae-ri and Hyunie if it's late?
 
 
 
Moreover his water broke. The twins cannot move now inside him, the sooner they can bring them out, the better. Taehyung praying to God, Jeongguk's scared-soft face that's looking at Taehyung, it's an emotional moment.
 
 
 
Taehyung was heaving, Jeongguk touched their forehead. Whispering sweet nothings to Taehyung. Taehyung put a kiss on Jeongguk's lips, with a breathy "love you,gguk". Jeongguk teared up at that. It's so hard on a mother's part to give a child life. Jeongguk wishes he could take some pain away from Taehyung's. Jeongguk was awed once again when Taehyung asked him this. "Tae-ri's papa, you haven't had your breakfast." Jeongguk sshed him with a whisper. "Baby, you don't need to worry about my breakfast." But Taehyung was adamant, he was asking Jeongguk to eat something from the cafeteria.
 
 
 
Taehyung pressed the matter for quite some minutes, but Jeongguk didn't go. Isn't Taehyung lunatic? to think that Jeongguk will leave and go to the cafeteria for eating while Taehyung struggles here between life and death?
