Josh's P.O.V.

Her dad hurt her. How could he hurt such a beautiful little girl.

"You bastard!" I yelled grabbing him and punching him.

"She deserved it." He smirked as my fist connected to his nose. Blood started pouring out.

"Someone call security!" A nurse yelled as two police ran up to us and pulled us apart.

"You both are under arrest." The two cops said in sync as they cuffed us. Shit!

"Nurse can you tell Avery that ill be back." I asked and she nodded and went into Avery's room.

"I'll meet you downtown Conner." The police said pushing me into the back.

"Why'd you punch that man, sir?" The cop asked me.

"He abused his daughter. If I didn't find her she would have died." I replied calmly.

"Do you love this girl?" He looked at me this time.

"Yes sir. She means the world to me."

"How old is she?" He asked.

"18."

"I see. Well we are going to ask questions about her and her father when he get there. You will most likely be let go. You were protecting her. But there will be a fine for fighting in the hospital." He stated.

"Yes sir. I understand that sir." We didn't talk after that. When we got to the police station I was taken into a room.

"Hello, Mr.?" The man sitting across from me asked.

"Joshua Grey." I replied

"Yes. Mr. Grey. I'm here to ask you some questions about Mr. And Miss James." Avery James... Cute.

"I'll give you everything I know sir."

"That's all I as. Ok how long has Miss James been living with her father?"

"It's been 1 week and 3 days."

"Are you a friend of Mr. James?"

"No I'm his neighbor."

"Is Mr. James an alcoholic?"

"Yes sir." More questions were asked about Tony and Avery.

"Thank you for you're cooperation. You may leave." He said leading me to the front.

"I'll give you a ride back to the hospital." The cop who brought me said.

"Thank you sir." I said following him to the cop car and sliding in. We never talked after that. As soon as we got back to the hospital I went straight to Avery.

"Josh!" She yelled in excitement as the nurse took the wires and needles out of her.

"Hey baby." I said and sat beside her taking her hand.

"I heard what happend."

"You're dads in jail Av." A wave of relief washed over her.
