Ina POV:
I am currently dancing with Greigh. Dammit, this is weird.
Greigh and I have... well, not dated, I guess, but admitted that we like each other but agreed that it couldn't ever work out. He's really more of a friend than anything else, really.
His eyes meet mine as we waltz to the song, and I stifle a laugh as he steps on my foot. A panicked expression forms on his face.
"Sorry!" He steps away, but before he can step on anybody else, I pull him back, and laugh for real this time.
"It's okay, chill," I grin at him. "I should probably tell you why I'm here, shouldn't I?"
"Yeah, that'd be great," He looks relieved it isn't awkward anymore. "I was wondering why you were." He still looks in shock though.
"Um, so... I don't know how to start, but I think someone's trying to get the recipe for the serum." I wince.
"What?" Greigh recoils, and I mutter, "Don't step on anyone's feet."
"Jeez, I said I was sorry about that," Greigh grumbles. "You were always judge-y."
"Excuse me?" I ask, my eyebrows raising. Seriously?
"Always having a comment on everything I do, drives me nuts." He laughs harshly.
"Are you serious right now?" I hold back my urge to slap him. I'm kind of temperamental in that way.
"Yeah, the serum, anyways." Greigh rolls his eyes, not in a funny kind of way. "How do you know someone's trying to get the recipe?"
I decide to save the complicated discussions for another time.
"Well, the hard drive that has all of the information she gave me? I got a notification on my phone that said it was accessed but not from any of my devices." I say, twirling as he lifts my arm up in the middle of our dance. All of the other couples around us coo, but we probably look about as happy as Dean when we told him his 'Spaghetti' was really just pasta.
"Are you sure it wasn't a fluke?" Greigh offers, but I shake my head at his suggestion.
"I'm positive. And even if I was wrong, it's best we stay careful. This situation could get messy if anyone finds out about it. About us." I stare at Greigh intensely, but not feeling as sure as I probably look.
"Okay," Greigh says. "It's settled then"
"What's settled?" I ask, still confused at how evasive everyone's being in their sentences. It's annoying asking them to repeat themselves. It's annoying getting Greigh to repeat himself. It's annoying that were in this situation at all!
"We have to go and get the serum before whoever else wants it gets to it before us!" He says in that 'Duh, are you stupid?' tone that I hate on him. Ugh.
"This is what I've been saying!" I burst out at him, and he raises his hand up, stopping our dance abruptly.
"Okay, okay, chill out." He says, almost smirking, and I know he's trying to poke the bear. Which is very annoying, and we both know it.
"Just shut up and dance." I grumble, taking my arms around his neck again.
"Shut up and dance with me~" Greigh laughs genuinely this time, singing - mimicking softly and off pitch.
I purse my lips from a laugh. I know Greigh and my relationship is kind of toxic in a way, and it's both of our faults, but I still like him. We just have a lot of issues to work out. (A lot of issues.)
