Chapter 8: Two of a Kind

The gang continued down the road towards the lake, when they heard another noise.

"Swinub!"

"Uhhhh, what was that?" Boo-Boo asked.

The gang looked down, and there stood a little brown Pokemon with a pig's snout, sniffing the ground.

"I think it was that adorable little Swinub!" Augie replied. Then he scanned it with his Pokedex.

"Swinub: the Pig Pokemon. A dual ice and ground type. Swinub has an extremely keen sense of smell, which it usually uses to find food."

"If he usually uses his snout to find food, why is he sniffing the ground this time?" Huck asked.

"I'll handle this," Quick Draw replied. Then he looked down at the Swinub.

"Howdy, Swinub! What seems to be the problem?"

"Swinub!" the Swinub said.

"I think he said he's lost!"

"Awww, that's terrible!" Huck sighed. "You wanna go home to your mommy and daddy, Swinub?"

"Swinub!"

"Augie, what are a Swinub's parents!"

"That's easy!" Augie answered. "A Piloswine, and a Mamoswine! They're evolved forms of Swinub!"

"But where can we find them?" Quick Draw asked.

"We'll have to head to the mountains for that," Augie replied. "In the meantime, do you think you can take Swinub with us so he can be safe, Quick Draw?"

"You bet I can!" Quick Draw replied. "It's alright, Swinub! I'll take good care of you until we find your family!"

"Swinub!" Swinub replied, happily.

"Now let's go!" Augie shouted. "We gotta cross the lake if we're gonna get to the next town!"

The gang climbed aboard Snag's Lapras, and started sailing across the water. But then, right on a rock, they saw a bright orange duck, looking at a heart-shaped Pokemon in the water.

"Psy?" the duck wondered as it looked at the Pokemon in the water.

"Luvdisc?" the other Pokemon said in a soft voice.

Then it squirt the duck with a blast of water from its little mouth.

"Psyiyiyiyiyiy!" the duck cried.

Huck, Eevee, and Togepi burst out laughing.

"Some of these Pokemon have keen senses of humor!"

"I wonder what that duck Pokemon is," Boo-Boo said as he scanned the duck with his Pokedex.

"Psyduck: the Duck Pokemon. A water type. Psyduck uses a mysterious power to perform various attacks. It constantly suffers from a headache, but when its headache gets stronger, its power increases."

"And that heart shaped Pokemon is gorgeous!" Huck beamed as he scanned the heart-shaped creature with his Pokedex.

"Luvdisc: The Rendezvous Pokemon. A water type. This heart-shaped Pokémon earned its name by swimming after loving couples it spotted in the ocean's waves."

"We should go take a closer look!" Yogi suggested.

"Good idea!" Snag agreed. "Lapras, let's head over to that rock!"

Lapras swam over to the rock where the Luvdisc and the Psyduck were sitting.

"Hey there, Psyduck!" Boo-Boo cried.
