It was a typical office meeting room with a big table, a screen for showing stuff, and a coffee area. They were all sitting down, with Zaynab next to Khalid and three other investors, waiting for Firdausi to start her presentation.
Firdausi looked calm even though everyone felt tense, showing how hard she had worked. Zaynab's encouraging look motivated her; she knew impressing Khalid was important. "Picture a new, modern building appearing on the horizon, blending nicely with the surroundings. It has everything a top-notch place should have, from high-tech lecture halls to cozy spots for hanging out and chilling," she explained as the projector displayed her detailed work, revealing the impressive result.
"The solar panels shine in the sunlight, using renewable energy to power the institution sustainably. These panels not only save on energy costs but also help the environment. Inside, this solar energy powers the building, providing electricity for lights, heating, and all the necessary modern equipment for a good learning environment. The institution focuses on being innovative and eco-friendly, a symbol of progress in the community".
"So, what shall we name this institution?" inquired Hadiza Garba, one of the investors, breaking the silence. Judging by their expressions, she sensed their awe at her presentation.
"Well, envision it as a cutting-edge, futuristic university campus, meticulously crafted to be eco-conscious and technologically advanced, offering students a contemporary and sustainable learning atmosphere," she elaborated, earning a nod of approval from Mrs. Garba.
"Continuing with the futuristic university campus concept, some distinctive modern elements could encompass interactive digital screens for information and communication, smart lecture halls equipped with virtual reality capabilities, verdant spaces for relaxation and study, and even a rooftop garden for sustainability and a serene escape," she stressed, each detail showcased on the screen.
"As for elevators, they undoubtedly offer a touch of convenience and accessibility to the campus, particularly benefiting students, faculty, and visitors with mobility constraints. Elevators can heighten the futuristic ambiance of the campus while ensuring seamless navigation through the multi-story structures. Envision sleek, glass elevators providing panoramic views, seamlessly fusing functionality with contemporary design. What are your thoughts?"
Suddenly, a resounding round of applause erupted from the audience. She hadn't imagined she could vividly convey her campus vision and bring it to life before them. She realized the depth of her research efforts had truly paid off. Not even enough sleep on Tuesday could dim her excitement.
"But I have a question?" asked Mr. Tahir Kolade while everyone stopped in suspense. "Where will this futuristic university campus of yours be located? I know you might have thought about it too."
"Kaduna should be the right place," said Dr. Azeez, who had half-moon glasses.
"No, Abuja," countered Mrs. Garba, while Zaynab agreed.
"Kaduna would be better," added Khalid.
She then began, "Between Kaduna and Abuja, I would recommend situating Hadeja's Global Learning Center closer to Abuja. Abuja is the capital city of Nigeria and a major hub, which could provide better access to resources, opportunities, and a diverse student population. It could be a strategic location for the university to thrive and make a significant impact. What do you think about placing it closer to Abuja?"
"Okay, your daughter has a way of persuading people, Khalid," said Tahir, while she smiled.
"Okay, if you say Abuja, where exactly do you prefer?" asked Khalid in his bossy demeanor.
