I let out a sigh as I crossed my legs together and set down beside Wrecker. Hunter and the others had a mission, which meant that a few of us would be staying in Pabu.
"While we are gone, Wrecker, you are in charge." Hunter said with a frown.
"Yes!!!" Wrecker exclaimed as he jumped to his feet.
I rolled my eyes as he started to talk about his plans for all of us.
"You're secretly in charge." Hunter whispered into my ear.
"Obviously." I whispered back to him.
I wasn't surprised that Hunter allowed Wrecker to think he was in charge, mostly because it was normal. Hunter didn't want to break Wrecker's heart and so he and I always lied and said Wrecker was in charge, but everyone knew the truth.
He gave me a nod and set back up.
"Alright, be good... please for the love of the force, be good." Hunter pleaded.
"I make no promises." Omega said as she plopped down beside me.
"I'll keep them under control, you guys just be safe... and try not to kill Crossy." I said as I let out a laugh.
"No promises." Echo said as Crosshair shot him a glare.
They left leaving us alone at the house. After what felt like forever I noticed that Wrecker had been quiet, to quiet. I stood up and set my book down as I walked into the kitchen, where I found Wrecker and Omega standing over the stove, their eyes wide.
"What did you two do?" I asked as I walked up to them.
"Um.... Nothing." They both replied as I shot them a look.
Wrecker put his body in front of the stove and I glared at him. I smelt something smoking and covered my face.
"What did you burn?" I asked with a groan.
They looked at each other and then moved to the side. I walked past them and froze as I saw that the oven was completely destroyed.
I didn't know how I'd explain this to Hunter, he's probably have a heart attack when he saw the damage done to his kitchen.
"What did you do!" I exclaimed as I stared at the oven.
"It was a mistake... we accidentally over cooked some cookies." Omega mumbled under her breath.
"Just think we're going to laugh about one day!" Wrecker exclaimed as he sent me a smile.
I short them a glare and Wrecker went silent.
"Just not today." Omega said as she looked up at me.
"Oh, no. Definitely not today. Today is going to be a mess." I said as I glared at Wrecker.
"Are we in trouble?" He asked as he bit his bottom lip.
"Take a guess." I growled as I crossed my arms over my chest.
"No?" He said questionably.
"Take another guess." I growled out angrily.
"We will clean up." Omega mumbled as she stared at the ground.
"Yes, you will. Now I have to go and buy us a new oven! Try not to burn the house down while I'm gone!" I snapped as I turned and walked away from them.
Thankfully there was a market place and I could put the oven on a tab, seeing as we were close to Phea. I heard a speaker turn on and turned to listen to it.
"Would a Miss. (Y/n) (L/n) please come to the front desk?"
A frown appeared on my face and I made my way to the desk. I found a woman waiting for me, a frown on her face.
"Hello, is there a problem?" I asked as I walked up to her.
"I believe that they belong to you?" She said as she pointed behind me.
Just from the look on her face, I knew who was behind me. Who else would come to the market and come to the front office?
I closed my eyes and slowly turned around. When I opened them I saw Omega and Wrecker sitting on a bench, a smile on their faces.
"We got lost." They explained.
I let out a groan and covered my face.
"Please... take them with you." The woman pleaded.
I felt sad for the woman, I could only imagine how much a pain they had been for her to deal with.
"I didn't even bring you guys with me." I said as I let out a groan and rubbed the bridge of my nose.
"We missed you." Omega said with a smile.
"Come on, I'll need Wrecker's help with the new oven anyways." I said as I shook my head and motioned for them to follow me.
They jumped to their feet and followed behind me, giant grins on their faces. After what get like forever we returned home, and with Omega's help I was able to set the oven up before the boys arrived home.
"We're home!" Hunter called out.
"Looks like the house is in one piece." Echo said with a laugh.
I shot Wrecker and Omega a look, which caused them both to hold their breaths, as I crossed my arms over my chest. Hunter let out a sigh and shook his head.
"What happen?" He asked with a frown.
"You want to tell him, or do you want me to tell him?" I asked as I raised an eyebrow.
Neither of them wanted me to tell Hunter, because they knew that it would only get worse from there if I had to tell him, so they instead spilled the beans and fessed up to their mistake.
"We broke the oven." Wrecker said as he looked at the ground.
"We were just trying to bake some cookies and... we sort of burned them." Omega said as she sent them a smile.
"I'm never... ever leaving you both alone." Hunter said with a frown.
"If we do, we lock the kitchen door." I said as I shook my head.
"So... what's our punishment?" Wrecker asked as they both stared up at us.
"You get to work for Phea and pay off the oven. Whatever she wants, you two will do." I said as I crossed my arms over my chest.
"But-"
"No buts, I've already contacted her." I growled out, cutting them off.
"Okay."
"Now go to your rooms." I ordered with a frown.
I felt eyes on me and turned to see Hunter staring at me.
"What?" I asked as I shot him a look.
"Nothing, just... it's good to have you home." He said as he looked away from me, a small smile on his face.
