Jine's alarm rang at 7:00am, so she reached for her cell phone to dismiss the alarm. It was still ringing, and she had a slight struggle to reach for it because it was dark. The usual morning sun was not the first to greet her good morning because behind the curtains was something placed there to totally block any light even just from taking a peak. She could not find her alarm because not even a single light was on. The alarm stopped on its own a minute after it was not turned off. Jine knew it's going to ring again after five minutes, so she stood and aimed her hands for the light switch on the wall. She was halfway to reaching the switch when someone from her back caressed her from her shoulders to her soft and smooth hands. The caress slowly put her shoulder level raised arms down to her sides. She was blinking again and again very fast as if she thought she was not completely awake, but she was. She felt that someone's chin on her right shoulder which moved her face to that direction as if trying to see who it was, but that was impossible because again, it was dark.
"Good morning, lovely," the voice could not be mistaken for anyone else's voice but Calvin's. She felt his breath on her face, and her rapid blinking slowed down. Calvin was still holding her hands on her sides, but this time, he moved her arms to be parallel on her tummy so that he was embracing her. She was feeling his embrace tenderly. While on that position, she slowly moved her face towards his, aiming to reach his lips with hers, very slowly until the alarm rang again.
Jine felt guilty for turning the moment to an awkward one, so she released herself from his embrace and tried again to switch the lights on. But before her second step away from him, Calvin reached her left hand and pulled her closer, now facing him.
"Do not switch on the lights," his voice was husky.
"Wha-wh-why?" She might have lost her cool, or it's not yet on early in the morning.
"I've been waiting for you to wake up for this romantic moment I've been getting ready to give you, but it's not going to be fun if the lights were on," his voice was making her heart beat fast then faster and even faster, so she was as if she could no longer hear the alarm or anything at all except for her heart beating, his voice seducing, and his breath tempting.
He kissed the hand he was still holding. He gently kissed her on her forehead. He kissed her cheek. He slightly got aggressive and threw her to her bed. She felt her heart skipped a beat. It's now beating faster than ever. Her eyes were searching for him in the dark until they saw a light. He just lighted a match.
"Wha-why is there a need for fire? Ah-hh-are we going to play with it?" she's not likely to say that idiom, but she did.
"I didn't know that you're a pervert, honey," his voice suddenly shifted tone to being teasingly playful while he aimed the lighted match to a candle on a wooden tray. "I hope you're now completely awake for breakfast in bed, honey."
"You got to be kidding me," her heartbeats went to normal. "And correction, you sounded more like a pervert, and you kissed me first," she got a really irritated tone. Was that because she was actually expecting that to happen?
"You aimed to kiss me first, my dear. You could have kissed me first if not for the alarm," he reached for the alarm and switched it off.
She felt embarrassed. That was cute on her. Preparing to stand, she moved her feet from where they were lying on her bed down to the floor. He immediately grabbed her feet and placed them back on bed. He reached for the tray of food before she could do another move. He placed the tray with her feet in between its feet.
"Huwag kang mapikon. I was just teasing. It's still a romantic moment after all. I prepared this for hours just for you. Hindi ka ba mata-touch? This is a first of its kind - candle-lighted breakfast in bed," he was teasing while positioning himself to sit across her.
She gave him a slight grin as if acting not satisfied with the effort.
"Hey, are you that upset not to be at least appreciative if not really happy," he still had that playful tone while pinching her cheeks to spread her lips to a smile.
"Aray naman! Sige, okay na," she slapped his hand to free her cheeks from his pinching.
"Ahh! Ang sakit din no'n ah," he looked at her as if he won't let her slapping passed without vengeance. He lifted from where he was seated, and his lips reached hers.
