After last night, it was a beautiful day to start for Anver. It was the first time after the death of his mother that a day became worth waking up to. For the first time, he would like to look his best which he effortlessly did. For the first time, the glint in his eyes could not be suppressed by his soft eyelids nicely holding his long eye lashes that added glisten to his eyes in his every blink. For the first time, he was radiating on his face the colour of his flesh beneath his finger nails. For the first time, every move of his lips in everything he said seemed to be coupled with a little yet impossible to conceal smile. And for the first time, his friends could not believe they were seeing him like that when he went to their usual hang-out place.
Jake: Bro, what made you take off the closet your favourite jacket and put on the pair of shoes nobody dared touch? (Jake knew exactly the answer to his question, but he still asked Anver in a surprised with a little bit of teasing tone.)
Alex: Are you okay, bro? (This one had a wondering, sarcastic tone.)
Anver: Get enough of yourself. I'm fine. (Anver was trying his best to sound cool by keeping inside how he felt since last night, until he woke up that morning, then until that very moment. He believed that keeping how he really felt would make him appear cool.)
Luke: No, he's not fine. (Luke said with an intriguing tone.)
Vince: Why not? (Vince was always a lot of steps behind in their conversation.)
Lance: Yeah, bro. He's not fine. He's perfectly fine.
Luke: He's overly fine, bro.
Anver: Guys, I just had a good sleep last night.
Jake: Was that because last night seemed like a beautiful dream, bro?
Alex: Okay, guys, tigilan n'yo na si Anver. (Then he turned to Anver.) But bro, isn't today for our car racing? We're ready. Where is your car?
Vince: Nakalimutan mo, bro? I knew it! Mas mataas ang I.Q. ko sa'yo. (Was there anything about I.Q. there?)
Anver: (Anver really did forget, but there's no way he would admit.) Of course not! I just want this day for a refreshing walk.
Alex: Now that's weird. (They all knew that walking the area would be the last thing Anver would want to do.)
Jake: Well, that's something we haven't done yet. (Anver thought Jake would buy the idea.) But count me out.
Luke: Me, too.
Lance: I'm not going to do it either.
Vince: Boring... How about you, Alex?
Alex: Guys, let's give walking a try. (Alex was the ever convincing guy with less persuasion needed. This time, this very good friend, Alex, would like to make the most out of Anver's good mood as long as it lasted.)
