Author's pov

[Thakur Villa, Mumbai]

The whole villa is filled with dread. The Fear of Vijay Thakur's wrath was swinging above everybody's head like a sword. He is extremely aggressive at times and today is one of those days. He was enraged after learning about his Son's illicit enterprise. He is a man who values his principals above all else and such behavior, especially from his own son, would not be tolerated.

He had been waiting for Karan to return from Chandigarh and had called him as soon as the uproar began. He was seated on the couch, which had a strong regal touch to it, in the hall area of his villa, which exudes authority and grandeur. His aura has a profound influence on Authority and undeniable demand for Respect.

Karan entered the Villa and took a deep breath knowing that he could get away from anyone but not his Father. He has put the reputation of his family at stake but has no regret, greed and hunger for power makes people go blind.

He reached the hall area and silently stood before his Father, gazing down at the floor. Vijay's grip tightened around the hand rest of the couch.

"Aao Karan Thakur, Aao, kaisa lag raha hai? Apne baap ke maathe par kalank ka thappa lagwa kar?"
(Welcome Mr Karan Thakur, Welcome, how does it feel? After making your father's head bow down due to shame.)

"Jane dijiye na ji, bacha hai galati ho jati hai. Agey se aisa... Kabhi nahi hoga. Bas aap is baar... "
(Let it go, he's our child, mistakes happen sometimes. He won't repeat such things again. Just forgive him this time...)

Mandakini Thakur, Karan's Mother stood beside her husband and began to convince him to let go this mistake. Her tone made it clear that even she was not confident about being able to save Karan from her Husband's anger.

"Is baar jane diya toh tumhara yahi ladla kal ko hum sabke sar par chadhke naachne lagega, Mandakini! Bachpan se sikhane ki koshish karta aya hoon ki Ameer gharane mein paida ho jane ka matlab ye nahin ki har jagah apni daulat ka rutba jamate firoge tum Karan!"
(If i ignore his fault today, then this beloved son of yours will continue to do so. Since his childhood I've been trying to teach him that being born with a silver spoon in his mouth doesn't give him the right to brag about his wealth everywhere to get away with such mistakes.)

Cutting her in the middle of her plea He stood up from the couch and lashed out at both of them. Karan has always taken advantage of his status and this was not something that Vijay Thakur would accept.

"Dad I was just thinking about the profit by working with that company-"

Karan put on an act before his father to portray himself as the innocent one but in response he received a tight slap across his cheek. The sound of that slap echoed throughout the hall.

"Dr*gs bech kar? Logon ko maut bech kar ,tum business mein fayda karne chale the? Ek mauka diya tha tumhe, Mehnat karke apne aap ko sabit karne ka. Tumne use khud thukraya hai, Karan!
(By selling D*ugs? By selling off death to people you thought we will benefit from it? I gave you one chance, to work hard and prove yourself, but you've turned down that opportunity yourself,Karan!)

Aaj se tumhari company sirf naam ke liye tumhari hai. Jab tak sudhar nahin jate is ghar ki taraf aankh utha kar bhi mat dekhna, Warna humara woh roop dekhoge tum jis se is sheher ka har insaan darrta hai!
(From now onwards you have no access to your namesake company. Don't even think about stepping in this house unless you've learned your lessons or else you'll see the most feared side of mine.)

Tumse achi toh hamari Ridhi aur Tarini hain. Arey Tarini toh hamara khoon bhi nahi hai lekin usne fir bhi hum sab ka sar garv se uncha kiya hai, hamesha.
(Our daughters Ridhi and Tarini are far better than you. Tarini shares no blood relations with us still, she never fails to make us proud.)
