Tarini's pov

There was always turmoil waiting for us whenever days had passed pleasantly. I'm not interested in problems; I'm interested in the causes underlying them.

Ridhi has long since returned home, and it is already night. The workload in the office will increase, today everyone managed to keep up with it, but tomorrow I will find a solution to it. I shut down the laptop and peered out the window, where the city continued to glow under the thick canopy of dark sky. Only my office room's light is turned on, the rest of the building is dark. Everyone has gone home. How fortunate are those who have a place to call home. To have your loved ones waiting for you at the end of the day.

When I walked out of the building, the security guard uncle still appeared to be on duty. I approached him and requested him to return to his home as well, to which he answered

"Beta, Someshwar is still inside. Once he decides to leave i will also get going."

"He is still working? I didn't notice him, what is he doing there so late? I did not ask anyone to stay back."

His only reaction to my amusement was smiling through his tired eyes.

"Now what should I say, beta? This boy tends to be quite stubborn for his duties. Maybe some workload is there, that is why he is still stuck. I have sent three cups of tea thus far, fourth one is on the way. I don't think he will comeback anytime soon."

Reena aunty and Pravit uncle must be awaiting him, what if they are concerned? It is totally my fault, I should have paid more attention.

"Uncle, give me the keys, and you should leave now since it's very late. And could you kindly send two cups in place of one?"

I requested him,he initially hesitated to leave, but after some time, he agreed and departed. I went back inside, holding the tea cups, and found his cabin's door shut. I couldn't knock because both of my hands were occupied, so I pushed open the door with my shoulder.

He sat there, his head buried in the files, his gaze darting from the laptop screen to the files. I can tell Mr. Khurana's information left some impact on him, I shouldn't have brought him there with me in the morning. But i wonder how he manages to look so at peace even now.

I called out for him multiple times but he is so lost in his own world, he barely has any idea about my presence.

Someshwar's pov

It is so late, Maa is calling me after every hour, I know she must be worried but I could not go back leaving everything behind. I have to be responsible for my position. Those tampered documents, I am sure I can retrieve them from the original copies we have on our data.

I pulled myself out of my thoughts and suddenly someone placed two tea cups on my desk. I looked up and saw her, standing with her piercing gaze upon me. My boss who is also my neighbor. Wait she brought the tea for me?

"Good evening, Miss Tarini!"

I greeted her, standing up from my chair. Instead of answering me she took her seat on one of the chairs and striked me with an unexpected question.

"Chai bohot peete ho tum? Ek cup mere sath bhi pee lo, baitho?"
(You drink tea a lot? Do you mind having another cup with me?)

Is she asking me or scolding me? Whatever it is i don't feel bad about it. Sitting back on my chair i answered her.
