JAMES

I am currently sitting around the bonfire, by the beach, with Sam, Elijah, Maddy, Claudia, and a very beautiful girl named Renee. I've known everyone aside from Renee for a summer. Although, Sam, Elijah, and I did keep in contact during our time away from Cape Cod.

Renee though, she was beautiful. And there was no other way to describe her. She had light brown skin, curly brown hair, and the most beautiful brown eyes I'd ever seen in my life.

She was toned in all the places where her skin was visible. But aside from her characteristics, her personality stuck out to me the most.

She wasn't like Maddy. She wasn't like Claudia. She wasn't like any other woman I've met in my life.

She laughed at the right times, made small jokes at the right times. Everything just seemed so perfect about her.

But, if I looked deeper into her eyes I can't help but see something dimmer in them. Like she wasn't at all as happy as she seems.

But judging from everybody else, they didn't seem to notice anything. So maybe, I'm just trying to see deeper into this than it seems.

My Mum always did say I was her sunshine boy, the one who cared a whole lot.

Maybe I am just overthinking this, but after seeing the way her eyes looked almost lifeless, I can't help but feel the urge inside of me to just hold her tight and figure her out.
