My heart races as I buckle my armor on with quick precision. My sword gleams in the light as I examine the edge before sheathing it. Around me, everyone else is getting ready and mounting their dragons. I feel a hand grasp my upper arm and glance over my shoulder.

"Be safe." Hiccup says, concern flashing in his forest eyes.

With a soft smirk and nod, I respond, "Relax, this isn't my first fight against these people, but uh, you stay safe too."

He nods and lets go of me before turning and jumping on Toothless' back. Hiccup smirks my way before he, Stoick, and Gobber take off to help defend the nest. I steady myself as the ground shakes from another explosion.

Once I've regained my balance, I race out of the cave toward the ledge where Atlas flies around, waiting for me. When she sees me coming, she gets low and glides alongside me. As I reach a rock ledge, I kick off and use my momentum to swing myself onto Atlas' back. As soon as I'm secure, she takes off.

Cloudjumper and Valka join us in the sky, and we head down toward the Bewilderbeast, who looks aggravated as he lifts himself out of the water. Some chunks of ice rain down on him as he growls and stands.

Valka spins her staff, and the alpha follows us to a weaker section of the ice where he can break through. Atlas and I speed forward to join the fight early; Valka can handle the Bewilderbeast herself.

As we exit the nest, I take in the rising smoke and destruction littered along the beach. To my surprise, about five other dragon riders are helping beside Hiccup, Gobber, and Stoick. My attention is drawn to a trapped zippleback under one of Drago's metal nets. Moving in sync, Atlas and I dive for the trap.

Let the fight begin.

3rd POV

Large chunks of ice fall from the nest as Astrid and Eret evade them, but one larger piece nearly hits them before it gets blasted to bits by purple plasma. The telltale whistle of a night fury echoes in the air as Hiccup, Stoick, and Gobber fly past.

Hiccup and Toothless turn wide and refocus on the traps down below. As the Night Fury dives, the whistle is heard. One shot is all it takes for Toothless to take out one of the many net launchers. "Yeah baby!" Hiccup shouts in triumph.

The net on the broken launcher releases, catching a group of Drago's men instead. "Take 'em down!" A different man shouts as he and a group load their bows, unaware of Gobber and Grump approaching from behind.

"Heads up!" Gobber calls out as Grump lowers his tail, knocking into every archer as they stand in a line. Every single one falls unconscious as they're hit with the giant dragon's tail. Gobber chuckles as he glances back at the mess left behind.

With a scowl on his face, Drago watches the fight until his attention is captured by that whistle of a fury. He watches with a snarl as the dragon flies past. "Dragon master." He mutters.

Hiccup and Toothless fly alongside Astrid and Eret on Stormfly. Hiccup smirks as he raises his mask and looks at Eret, who appears to be struggling just a bit. "Welcome aboard, Dragon Rider." He calls.

"Thanks...I think." Eret calls back as he tries to steady the handles on the saddle.

"Where have you been?" Astrid demands.

"Oh, you know, making new friends." Hiccup trails off as he sees a familiar stormcutter spin through the air. Y/n rides steadily on Atlas' back with her sword drawn. She slices some arrows clean in half as they come flying toward her.
