Confusion

I checked the time and it appeared to be 6:00 am.. Ena will wake up soon.. I'll never make it back in time.. Toya's dad seemed to notice my uneasiness, "Hey, do you need a ride?" he asked as a vehicle that was concealed behind a thicket of bushes drove out to pick us up. Despite my disliking of him, I decided that I had no choice but to comply. "Yeah.." I said putting my hand behind my hand. Just like that a servant opened the door for me and him and we were on our way after I told him where I live. The car was nice, being a limo and all, don't get me wrong, but there wasn't a radio. Dissatisfied, I hummed to myself to pass time, surprising the driver and pleasing Toya's dad.

I felt uncomfortable that a man like Toya's father knew where I had lived, but it was all I could think of. He opened a hatch in the back of the passenger seat and handed me an envelope with a smile. I unraveled the envelope and pulled the paper out. The paper read 'You are invited to join an illustrious event.' with an address at the bottom. I looked over to him. "Don't loose that, it's your only way of entry. Sorry it's so vague, don't want the police getting suspicious.." he chuckled. I was disgusted... What exactly was he inviting me to anyway, a minor..? What business would someone of my age have appearing at an event that could be raided by police officers? "Oh there's your stop." Toya's dad then gave me a handshake, "Hope to see you there." before dropping me off at the house.

As soon as they left and I ran to the blank room undisturbed, I passed out. I was exhausted, mentally, physically, and emotionally. This feeling of burn out was excruciatingly painful. I think I got around 5 minutes of time to rest before Ena came into my room. She looked at me for a second and had a sigh of relief. "Get up, I have to take you to school." She said holding the door open. "Thank you..Ena." I said with a slight blush, as it's embarrassing to say such things.. She smiled, but it was barely noticeable. "mhm.." she hid behind the door.

I got changed and we ate breakfast together. "Where's mom and dad.?" I asked. She paused. "Asleep...As always.." She said looking to the side. "Why do you care anyway..? I thought you didn't anymore.." I didn't understand and just went back to eating my food... This clearly irritated Ena, "Okay, what is it?" Ena asked, her voice hoarse. "Why are you acting strangely? Why did you come here looking like a completely different person!?" Ena said as reached in her pocket and pulled out her phone. She showed me an image of boy that looked exactly like me, but he was small, frail, and clearly didn't take much care of himself, Shocking to see to say the least, as I have a more athletic body type and since I perform on stage I take care of my hair and skin well. However I haven't performed in a while, as it seems nobody knows what a 'performance' is confusingly enough.

"How did you think I would understand that you went from a horrible person who took all of his anger out on everyone to this nice guy who thanks me for the endless trouble I go through for you!? Huh? What's with this 'nice guy act'? You don't just change in 3 months!" I dropped my fork out of sheer surprise at her outburst. I was confused and bewildered by this whole situation.. Something is a miss here... I did not look like that image three months ago.. And usually it's me who has to go through endless trouble for Ena, though I'd never admit it. I was first and foremost concerned, then I was curious. My curiosity grew, fueling a deep desire for answers that seemed elusive.

"I wish I knew the answers to your questions..." I didn't know how to respond, as Ena was valid in feeling the way she did, given what she and many other believed what happened. I didn't want her to suffer anymore.. So, I changed the subject. "I have to go to school soon you know.. So, if you're going to insist on holding my hand the whole way, then we should get going." I said lending her my hand, trying to overcome the dread of dealing with the people at school, and ..Toya.. All while being extremely anxious and exhausted.. She must've been feeling frustrated.. I felt bad for not being able to help her come to terms with her perception of my changing, but I couldn't come to terms with it myself.

She took my hand and walked me to school yet again, and this time we arrived later than yesterday. I paused before the turn onto school grounds, as I caught a glance of Toya Kohane and An standing quite the distance in front of us. I began to tremble at the sight of Toya and Kohane being love birds... However something wasn't right.. Now that I can see them closer I couldn't help, but see that Toya didn't look like he was enjoying himself, and An didn't either. Kohane looked blissfully unaware of her surroundings.. I couldn't stand it.. Ena seemed to notice my trembling at their appearance, "Akito. Get yourself together." This would seem rude or unsympathetic to someone else, but it was her attempt to comfort me. I smiled, before recognizing the gaze of Toya. He saw me. It's like he has eyes for me or something..

Toya gave Kohane a kiss on the cheek, who then walked towards her school, and waved bye to An, who began to walk forward onto our school's grounds. Toya himself began to walk towards me and Ena, who was holding my hand. "Do you know him?" Ena said staring Toya down, which I didn't appreciate. "You could say that." I say trying to avert Toya's unwavering gaze. It was like he was staring right through my soul. "Hey dude, what's the problem?" I asked semi-playfully furrowing my brow. He gave me a strange look and walked into the school premises. Ena hit my arm with her elbow. "You're infuriatingly infatuated with him aren't you?" She gave a devious smile. "Shut u- I mean what are you talking about!?" I said ruffling her hair. "I can see right through you, I mean look at your red face. You're so into him!" She said before smirking and walking away before I could object to her sentiment.
