"Would you like to come to my place?" Kiyotaka said.

A small silence took place after those words were said, letting the words sink.

"Are you hitting on me?" The blonde haired girl said, at the same time she was giving him a cold stare.

"Who knows." Kiyotaka said, at the same time he was shrugging his shoulders. "I might be just interested in the worries of a normal high schooler."

"Really?" The blonde haired girl said with skepticism.

"Why would I approach you then?" Kiyotaka said, he was raising an eyebrow, curious about what she could come up with.

"Aren't you one of those boys who pick up girls to take them to bed?" The blonde haired girl said, looking at him suspiciously.

"Do I look like someone who could pull that out?" Kiyotaka asked curiously. So far his interaction with the opposite sex had been only due to work, either taking orders as a waiter or attending the cash register.

"Yes, you'll have to work on your voice and expressions though." The blonde haired girl said nonchalantly.

"Unfortunately that's not going to happen." Kiyotaka said calmly. "I've been like that since I had memory."

"I'm sorry." The blonde haired girl said apologetically. What she had said wasn't meant to be seen in a negative way, she was just speaking her honest thoughts.

"It's fine, I have come to terms with it." Kiyotaka said nonchalantly. "Besides it's not like I don't feel anything, it's just that I don't know how to express myself."

"Again I'm really sorry." The blonde haired girl regretfully.

"..."

Kiyotaka was at a loss of words, what was he supposed to say? He had noticed the change in the girl's mood but he was just a beginner when it comes to social interactions.

"I'm Ayanokouji Kiyotaka." Kiyotaka said out of nowhere.

"What's with that sudden introduction?" The blonde haired girl said, surprised.

"I thought it was the right course of action." Kiyotaka said. "I mean, isn't it strange to not know the name of the person you've been talking to?"

"I guess you're right." The blonde haired girl conceded.

"Besides I wanted to know your name." Kiyotaka said. "I've been calling you blonde haired girl in my head."

Upon hearing Kiyotaka's words, the blonde haired girl couldn't help but giggle. "Well, I've been calling you cashier boy so I guess we're even." The blonde haired girl said playfully.

"Nice to meet you Ayanokouji-kun." The blonde haired girl said, at the same time turned around to look at him. "I'm Shiina Mahiru."

"Nice to meet you too, Shiina." Kiyotaka said.

"..."

For a second time they were engulfed in silence, only the sound of the rain could be heard, it was increasing at an alarming rate. Soon Kiyotaka was soaked to the bones, his clothes were sticking to his body.

"Well Shiina, I suppose it's time to take my leave." Kiyotaka said, at the same time he had stood up.

"Wait!" Mahiru said, at the same time she was extending the arm that was holding the umbrella, letting the rain wet her. "You forgot your umbrella."

"I did it?" Kiyotaka said, shortly he took Mahiru's hand, pushing it so the umbrella would cover her from the rain. "I was sure I gave it to a cutie."

Upon hearing Kiyotaka's words Mahiru couldn't help but blush. It was the first time she had received a compliment face to face from someone of the opposite sex.
