"Move the fuck out of my way f*aggot! Before I make you regret it!" My so-called father screamed at Niki who didn't budge one inch.
I took a step forward, right next to Niki who gave me a quick glance, probably just as surprised as my parents. All three of them recovered almost immediately though. Just as I thought. No moments of weakness were allowed. The tension felt suffocating and I was proud of the fact that I pushed through it and I had the guts to finally talk back to my parents.
"Don't you dare call him that. I don't give a shit what you call me but don't you dare insult them." I said it with no fear as both of them lost their composure, utterly shocked. Part of the reason was also the fact that I cursed, kinda.
"YOU-" My mother started but I interrupted her.
"Whatever you are going to say will make no difference to me because I've already heard it all. All these years of torture are over. You destroyed my childhood. I will not let you destroy my whole life."
"US? YOU WERE THE ONE-"
" 'Who destroyed our lives.' I know, I know. And you almost made me believe that. But, trust me, if I would've been able to choose, I would've been everywhere but near you. You are not parents; you are monsters who use God as an excuse. You bring shame to Christians with your actions!" The second these words came out of my mouth, both jumped right at me with hatred in their eyes. Niki was quick to push my father on the ground but Jay Hyung, who wanted to protect me from my mom, wasn't so quick. Everything felt like it was moving in slow motion. Without even thinking about it, I rushed to catch my mothers' arms that were about to grab me. And, honestly, I blame my success on the adrenaline rush that I felt in that moment because I have no other explanation of how I was able to react so fast.
I held her by her wrists as I took a step forward, pushing her to take a step back, my grip becoming tighter. I wanted to show her I wasn't as weak as she made me feel. They made me feel like nothing for all those years. And it was my time to call them out for their bullshit.
"You don't deserve to be called parents! I am never letting you get close to me ever again. See you in hell." I spitted out with all the confidence I had left before pushing her out of my way and walking past them, the others following as my parents were left behind, speechless.
I kept on walking as fast as I could, as far away from them as possible. And, when I felt like I was at a decent distance, I let it all go.
My legs suddenly felt like they were made out of jelly as I frantically tried to find a support. Niki came in a rush and I immediately grabbed his arm, gaining back my stability.
"You did it! You stood up for yourself! I am so proud of you!" He laughed out of joy as he pulled me into a hug. The contact made me ease up, as I exhaled loudly. I hugged him back as I slowly started smiling, finally realizing what I just did.
"I did it..!" He let go of the hug and looked at me with sparkly eyes and the biggest smile as the others also arrived next to us.
"Sunoo, that was so badass!" Jungwon exclaimed and I couldn't hold back a giggle.
"Good job, man." Heeseung Hyung said to me with a proud smile.
"Well, what are we waiting for? Let's go to the police!" I told them and we all walked to the station with no more interruptions.
As we got there, we were asked for details and I also had to give a declaration.
I felt so nervous and worried the whole time, I felt like I would puke. It was my first time talking to the police which didn't make things easier. But it also made me feel like a heavy burden was being lifted off of me with every thing that I was telling them.
As we handed the policeman the stick with the video, Jake spoke up, making us all turn to him.
"I also have a recording from 30 minutes ago when they tried to attack him and also threatened to kill him." My eyes widened as I saw the scenes from only moments ago being shown on his screen. We all watched how they tried to hit me and how they told me that they would kill me when they got their hands on me. And, that alone, was enough for the police man to make a warrant-arrest. But we still watched the footage from school and also the scene with the principal walking by and doing nothing.
"Well, this just ads to the years that your parents with spend in prison. And, regarding your principal, an investigation will take place. Even though, in situations like this, the chances of him getting fired are of 100% from what I've seen." We all nodded as he explained.
Everything happened in a blur after that. We were told to sit down and wait until we were given the permission to leave and, after around an hour, we were informed that my parents have been arrested and that we were safe to go.
I also found out that they were going to be sentenced in 3 days and I was to attend.
Relief took over me after we got back to the dorms as I practically threw myself on the bed, closing my eyes and smiling like there was no tomorrow.
My eyes fluttered open as I looked at my boyfriend who was smiling back at me. I quickly got up and hugged him even tighter than I did after we left the park.
"We did it!" I giggled and so did he.
"No, baby, You did it. And I am so proud of you." That moment felt magical. I was so over the moon.. Only inches apart, I was leaning in to kiss him, wanting to celebrate that moment by being close to my amazing boyfriend.
But my fairy-tale was shattered once we heard something dropping and, as we looked at the door, we saw Jake with widened eyes, grabbing his keys off the floor and sprinting off.
