I yawned and stretched out my limps, letting that stiffness in my muscles loose. Ahh, what a great night I had. The bed was big, comfortable and, did I mention big?I grabbed my phone on the nightstand and check the time. Feeling rejuvenated, good it was just before 12. I did my morning routine and fixed the headscarf around my head properly. Feeling laid back, I decided on leggings, a hoodie, and some Crocs.
I made my way to the kitchen, I was starving. I ignored the figure sitting on the kitchen island as he sipped on something like coffee, God I needed that. He seemed focused on his iPad, probably doing some work. I thought we weren't supposed to be doing any of that here.
Well if he was going to do his own thing, what was stopping me? I made myself a cup of coffee and stood by the window to check the weather. Disappointed, I sighed at the gloomy weather. There was no chance of going outside and having fun in those weather conditions.
"Grandma called and said the orphanage was expecting us in the afternoon. Be ready by 4 pm." He said in a monotone. I rolled my eyes at him. "Don't roll your eyes at me," his voice sounded cold, almost like a threat.
"Someone is cranky. I'm sure it's all the sleeping you did on the couch," I smirked when I saw a tick on his jaw, but he didn't look away from his iPad.
After I called dips on the room, I suggested he take the couch because I wasn't going to share my room with his arrogant ass. He was the one who decided to act like the president of some Boy Scouts and came up with ridiculous rules.
I took my cup of coffee and made my way to the living room.I saw that he didn't even make his bed. Arrogant spoiled brat!
I wasn't a bad person, hence he even had a bed to make in the first place. Because I gave him some of the blankets and a pillow. It was really cold outside and I didn't want him to die of pneumonia and for the nation to blame me for killing their beloved prince.
I scoffed as I folded the blankets neatly and put them on the single couch. He must have had a rough night, unlike the couch back at the palace in our room, this one was not a pull-out bed. I almost felt bad, almost.

We arrived at the orphanage, it wasn't far from the guest house, maybe a 5-minute drive. From the outside, you could see the big windows as the young kids looked through at the big car they probably have never seen before. I was once in their place, the SUV was a beauty.
We both got off and made our way to the entrance of the big building. Upon arriving at the reception, the lady recognized us, or the prince to be exact. They shook hands as we were told to follow her to the caretaker's office.
"Your Highness, my princess, welcome." The middle-aged man greeted with a warm smile. I couldn't help but smile back at him as we greeted back. My husband just hummed and sat down on the chair, which I didn't remember being offered.
"Please have a seat," The man gestured to the seat next to Samkelo opposite him as he sat behind his desk. "I believe that you are here regarding the matter of the list we sent to the royal palace about our orphanage." The man started, getting straight to business.
"What list? We were told to come to buy the kid's clothes, uniforms, and food." Samkelo's demeanor, even though it didn't quite scare me, it did to some people. His voice was cold and his tone was dark.
"Y-your Highness, I'm sure the Queen mentioned t-the list," The poor man gulped before continuing to speak, "T-the orphanage has a lot of issues, and quite frankly those y-you just mentioned aren't the only ones," He seemed to be sweating as he tried to speak without stuttering.
I shook my head at the prince sitting next to me.
"Mr.." I released that I didn't know his name.
"Ngema," The man said.
"...right Mr Ngema. You see, we are here on a timeline. We help the kids with clothes and some of the things my husband has named, we have no knowledge of any list. Could you tell us what it is you are talking about?" I tried to sound calm and soft toward the trembling man.
"The Queen contacted our orphanage about a month ago and inquired about any issues that we may have been experiencing. I told her about our problems and she told me to send over a list. I was told you were here for a month, I'm assuming you won't be here buying clothes for a month," His last sentence caught me off guard.
I mean I knew we were supposed to stay here and help the orphanage for an entire month but he sounded mocking for someone who was trembling like a leaf a few minutes ago.
"Send that list over to me. Let's go," Samkelo stood up and walked out. I smiled weakly at the caretaker and got up before following the prince.
When we sat in the car, feeling the silence penetrate my brain and playing with my mind.
"If we are not here just to buy clothes and food, then what else are we here for?" I asked Samkelo who was focused on the road.
"Were you not there when we both found out about a list?" He sassed at me. God! What was his problem?
"You are so annoying, I was just wondering. It's not like I want to stay here with you for longer than I already have to." I looked out the window.
"Trust me, I would rather be doing something more important than be here with you," He said. I kissed my teeth.
We made it to the driveway and got out of the car. Feeling hungry I rummaged through the cupboards for something to cook.
I found some ingredients in the cupboards and the refrigerator. I decided to make some fried rice, vegetables, and fried chicken. By the time I was done cooking, I was ready to devour the whole plot.
I heard the shower running as I dished up the food. Seeing how cold it was, I decided on some hot chocolate, instead of juice. I debated on waiting for him to finish with his shower or just eating alone. But I figured I could just wait since eating alone was not very ideal for me.
Soon His Highness graced me with his presence. Didn't this man feel the cold? It was freezing as he was in a pair of basketball shorts and a T-shirt. He could die of the cold for all I cared.
"I made dinner, here's your food." I placed a plate on the table. He looked at me before looking at the plate. For a minute I thought he was going to push it aside but he surprisingly took the spoon and took a bite. I smiled.
I sat opposite him and ate my own food. I knew he enjoyed my food. He didn't have to say it, his eyes already said a lot.
