A sigh leaves past my lips as I stare down at the sleeping woman next to me. A feeling of disappointment settles down within me, and I chuckle."Alright princess, let's get you to bed." I get up and pick the sleeping beauty in my arms. I walk over to her room and open the door using my leg. I gently place her on her bed and tuck her in. She stirs up before turning her back on me.
I turn the lights off before closing the bedroom door. I rub my face, finally feeling the exhaustion weighing hard on me. I make my way to the couch and put everything back. I gulp down the glass of whiskey before hitting the couch.
In the dark, I lay down facing the ceiling. I tuck my arm under my head. I start to smile as my thoughts rear over to the beautiful woman I call my wife, Azalea. She's something alright, really something. I just can't put my finger on what yet. I know she's clumsy and sassy, and wouldn't remember a thing in the morning.
I drifted to sleep thinking about how she was just a few feet away, I sighed again.
I woke up early as always. It was programmed in my mind already. I decided to go for a jog around the area since the weather was still calm. After my jog, I showered and made some coffee. I took out my laptop and checked in on work. I know my brother was taking care of the company in my absence but I always wanted to be aware of what was happening.
I took out my phone and rang my brother. He answered after a few rings. "Is this going to be your morning routine now?" He groaned.
I smirked."I just call to check up on things. Who knows, maybe the company fell apart overnight, I need to be aware." I take a sip of my coffee. I could already imagine the frown on his face making me smirk wider.
"Dad put me in charge because he trusts me, can't you do the same?" The vulnerability in my brother's voice made me sigh. I didn't trust anyone when it came to the business, not even my brother. This inconvenience of a trip was starting to irritate me. But I knew those two women weren't going to stop till I did what they wanted.
"Settle the Shanghai account before we lose it. I called Sindy and she told me the finance department hasn't gotten the approval signature from you." I ignored his little emotional rant. I didn't call to baby an old man, he needed to grow up.
"I was going to do that!" He almost yelled. I didn't care about his childish antics. If father needed something to play with to teach his son how the business worked, he shouldn't use my company as a playground.
"I don't care, get to it." I dropped the call just as Azalea waltzed into the kitchen. I cast her one glance and it was enough to see how disheveled she seemed.
"God! My head hurts. How much did I drink last night? Did I do something stupid? Oh God, I didn't start telling you stories about my embarrassing childhood, like the one where I had my first crush in high school and-" I sighed, pinching the tip of my nose.
"I am trying to work, you can get what you want and see yourself out." I stared at her, I wished I hadn't when I saw the hurt on her face. I looked back at the computer.
"Yazi I thought after last night, maybe just maybe you'd be a lot nicer but I was wrong," She glared at me.
"Expectations lead to disappointment. Try to limit your expectations around me," I sounded like a jerk.
"You can be a real prick." She muttered before leaving the kitchen without doing whatever it is she was going to do. I cursed under my breath. I don't know what it was about that girl that made me feel bad every time I hurt her feelings. I just had to go and do that last night, well, almost. I can't deny that I wanted to kiss her, I wanted her.
___
The whole three days Azalea has been ignoring me. When I was in the living room, she immediately left, and when I used the kitchen as well. My patience was wearing thin with her childish ways.
That night I went to her room and knocked. I don't know what I wanted but I knew I had to talk to her. She opened the door, and I gulped. She was wearing silk pajama shorts and that thin strapped top. For a second I forgot why I was there.
"Ufunani?" With her hand on her waist, she looked up at me with a scowl. "Are you just going to stand there? Cause if you are, then move back a little so I can shut the door on your face because I'd like to sleep." That sass.
"I've had enough of the couch, my body hurts. I'm sleeping here tonight." I pushed past her and walked right into the room.
"Oh no you don't, get out Samkelo." I looked at her with my hands in my jogger's pockets. "You can't do this, okay? I got the room fair. Besides, where would you sleep in here?" She tried to reason but I ignored her and started to take off my T-shirt and joggers. I was left in my briefs as I climbed on the bed. With a content sigh, I closed my eyes.
"Samkelo!" She screeched. I smirked. "Where am I supposed to sleep? The couch won't take all of me." She whined. I opened my eyes and looked to see her with her arms crossed under her breasts. I immediately looked away. The pout on her face was cute. There I went again, calling her cute.
"The bed is big enough for the both of us, princess." I patted the space next to me. She gaped and I saw her eyes widen. God, she was adorable. "Are you scared of something princess? Do you think I'll do something to you?" I chuckled before closing my eyes again.
"Don't worry your pretty head, I like my girls thinner than that,"I knew what I had just said was shitier than anything. It didn't help that it was a huge lie, well almost. Before I saw love handles, big thighs, and that big ass. Before I saw her. She was sexy, there was no denying that all I wanted to do was have her under me, screaming my name as I pounded- fuck! I was hard.
I felt the bed dip after a few minutes. I smiled.
