The previous day...

"Kuya Fred please drive faster." Taylor urged while praying, 'Please, please, Rain has to be ok.'

He and Amante attended a gathering after an afternoon meeting, so he was not able to retrieve the phone he accidentally left at their house that morning.

He saw Rain's text plus several missed calls from Archer and River. He decided to call Archer and found out Rain was taken to the hospital because of dengue.

As soon as they entered the hospital grounds, he called Archer again and asked the room number. Archer told him and he rode the elevator for that floor.

Archer's waiting for him as soon as the elevator door opened.

"It's not good. Just now, we're told to get platelet concentrate because his platelet count's steadily declining. Hospital's blood bank has no AB positive." Archer informed Taylor.

Taylor paced back and forth as he searches for his contacts. He finally called Amante, "Kuya, Rain has dengue, we need AB positive platelet concentrate. Can you help me? Please?"

Amante said he will get back to him in a few minutes. After what felt like hours but in reality, it's just ten minutes, Amante called back. "I called a close friend who's a doctor. There is AB positive available at this Makati hospital. He will have 3 bags reserved for you. You need to have the doctor's request when you go there."

"Thank you so much Kuya. I owe you." Taylor said before he ended the call.

Taylor relayed the information to Archer.

"Are you really not going to see him?" Archer asked Taylor. Taylor just shook his head no.

Taylor then waited for Archer and River to leave before he walked towards Rain's room.

Taylor saw Rain through the glass panel on the door. Rain's mother sat at a chair near the head of the bed, stroking Rain's hair as she observes her sleeping son. Taylor silently said, 'I really cannot protect him. Please just let him be okay.'

Taylor decided to leave after about half an hour. As he turned to the direction of the elevator, he bumped into Rain's father.

"Tito. Good evening po." Taylor greeted.

Rain's father did not say anything for a few moments, it was obvious that he's not very fond of Taylor at the moment. Taylor bowed a little and walked away from Rain's father. He was a couple of steps away when he heard Rain's father talk.

"I heard you and Archer earlier. Thank you." was all Rain's father said before he started walking in the direction of Rain's room.

"You are so perfect and excellent that even when destroying other's happiness, you also do your absolute best."

Taylor felt a physical pain in his chest at Rain's words. He saw Rain's eyes dim at each passing moment. He never wanted those eyes to lose their brightness. So today, seeing Rain's originally bright eyes dimmed after his heartless statement felt tragic. But Rain's eyes remained beautiful though, tragically beautiful.

He stayed outside of the room out of Rain's view. He heard the heartbreaking sob and wanted to run inside and comfort Rain but hating him will help Rain get over him quicker.

He left after a while and wandered around the mall that he and Rain frequently go to. He visited every shop, restaurant and coffee house they ever went to.

Saving every memory he can.
